I've had an action on order for two months now, 2-3 to go still. At least I got glass out of the  way.

Stiller Tac-30, Mannerts T2, Seekins DBM, not sure on the trigger probably a Jewell, and the barrel IMHO is 6 of one half dozen of the other once you get to that premium level (Broughton, Shilen, etc.). Basically whatever my builder has in stock. It will be a .308 however.

As soon as you said you were in for a wait on an action-Stiller was the first thing that popped into my head as he seems to have a hard time getting actions out lately.
While barrels can be a preference thing, do your research and ask around with what others are using. The one brand that I've found to give me the fastest speeds are the Schneider 5P based on personal experience (2) and from what I've read others are getting. I'm getting 2590fs right now out of an 18.5" 5P with a 185VLD at the moment. That's beating GTG922E's 22" Rock by 25fps and is only 20fps slower than my 22" Broughton. There are a couple of good ideas to follow when selecting a barrel, so check around before settling for anything.

Roger on the wait time...I was gonna get a Lawton, but I've read way to many negative things about his CS. Being a lefty kinda hinders me, and being a poor boy I kinda wanted to keep the expense of the action under 1K. Realistically, I don't expect to have a completed rifle in my hands until late this year or early next. But having the glass and can out of the way, once the action drops it's gonna be smooth sailing from there I feel. I hope to have the    DBM and stock out of the way by AUG/SEP. Then I think it'll all got to GAP. I'm thinking it'll be less wait time there than at PAI. Not to knock Jared's work, he's a first class builder, but that fool loves to go hunting alot.

I agree with ya about Barney Lawton. The only way I'd get one would be via the GAP7000, but you ain't getting a lefty there. With my last build, I was wanting to get things rolling quickly and figured that maybe I could get an action built up by him faster-I finally heard from him 6 weeks after the initial call. By that time, I had the new build from GAP on a GAP7000 (the little .308 you saw at the last SniperChallenge). I have not heard anything else to encourage a purchase from Lawton.
About the only thing your gonna get from GAP over Jered is less wait. Communication is no problem with Jered-which can be problematic with GAP. Otherwise, I think Jered's machine work is better and his wait isn't too terrible. They'll both shoot better than you and the prices anymore are comparable.
