When is the last day of the GA legislative session? In other words, when the action will effectively be over this year?
3/26/2008 5:11:34 PM EDT
[#1]
6 more days.

So the last day depends upon how many they schedule each week.  Lately, they have been scheduling 3 days a week.

So, is the new gun bill this year going to die a quiet, dignified death in the committee?

[#6]
that's the question we are all asking...

I think it is dead. I'd be very surprised if it sees the light of day.

Just my opinion, pure fuckery by the NRA and their hard-headedness about the piece-of-shit parking lot bill, coupled with a severe lack of stones by the senate that would have given the bill a vote if JUST ONE senator had demanded it is what killed it.

My Senator Renee Unterman has been as useless as tits on a boar as far as I'm concerned, and I plan on working for whoever runs against her. Dumb bitch won't even answer constituent mail.

I haven't heard jack from my senator, either. If he lets this die I'll be mighty pissed. I've never worked for a candidate's campaign before, but this has got me seriously considering it (if only for part-time due to work)... that's how angry I'd be. And I don't even have a GHL.

April 4 is the last day .... sine die.   Keep your schedules flexible until then.   We may need to personally re-align the priorities of our gun-banning Senators.

I bet it will die.  They are too busy counting the money they got from the auto insurance lobby for deregulating giving them the right to screw us on something required by law.    apparently the smell of corruption comes across the internet.....cause damn something stinks!

It will not die.

Please stay positive in your contacts with your Senator, people.

Seriously, there is a lot going on right now.  It will not die.  Be fully prepared not to get everything you want, but 2008 will be better than 2007.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep from turning negative this week.

I have been keeping it positive when talking to my reps and I have been talking to them regularly.  If we don't get what we want this time, the support of this bill will eventually get it through,   I was just pissed that anything that is bad mojo for the citizens of GA but good for big business passes with ease.   I have faith that eventually they will do the right thing.

I don't think we are turning negative, we're turning apathetic.
