I have a buddy who is an 01 FFL and he let another friend of ours order some handguns through him. The friend buying the guns ordered 3 handguns instead of the 2 we thought he was going to order. My FFL friend said he thinks he remembers there being a limit of 2 handguns per month in GA, is that accurate? If it is accurate, what will my FFL friend have to do since he has now received all three? Thanks! |
That is correct. You can buy as many guns as you want here, but there is a requirement that more than two handguns purchased through a single FFL within a given time frame (5 days, I think?) requires a secondary form be completed and sent to the ATF. |

You would think there would be a lot of those forms getting filled out, what with the "free money" rebates we're about to get. I'm picking out what three AKs I want. Of course, I'm kidding. I'm so tight I squeak when I walk. It has killed me to jump on the "ban's a comin'" wagon to buy the guns I already did last year. I just keep telling myself it's an investment, but I guess when Barack Hussein Obama al Illinoisi and the UN make it illegal to own them, my money will be gone. |

A copy also has to go to a local or state official - mine go to the local Sheriff "Copy 2 - The official designated by the State or local authorities to receive the form....." Here's the form...www.atf.treas.gov/forms/pdfs/f33104.pdf |
It's also important to note this form is ONLY used for multiple HANDGUN purchases from the same dealer within the time frame. The ATF guys I know told me this form is not used for multiple rifle or shotty purchases, as the ATF does not track those (at least not in Georgia, I don't know about other states). |
