Yeah. vicki retired due to some health issue with her leg. I guess Steve decided he couldn't do the show without her and moved to something else. What was never said. Rather sucks. I did get tired of them talking all the damn time and not playing music but thye did entertain some. |

I may be the only one on this board, but I like listening to NPR (is that a ban-able offense?) . I can easily weed out the crap and under that is a bunch of good info. I can't stand any of the other FM morning shows and find them absolutely worthless. AM has a few good stations and when i want music i have my CDs/MP3s. Russ |

I like to think of it as gathering intel on what the enemy is thinking. Then I tune over to Rush and Hannity to see how the other side is thinking. |

The radio in my car broke about 4-5 years ago and I never bothered to fix/replace it. But then again I don't have TV at the house either. (We haven't had it for about 14 years or so....) Once you manage to wean yourself from the mass media, watching /listening to it is really pretty painful. The way they flash images and sounds at you, and the way ALL the programing is SO hyper-dramatic, its pretty scary when you look at it after not being inured to it from a regular diet of daily over-exposure to it!!!  I choose PASS on the radio/TV brainwashing extravaganza!

+1 I want music, not Cledus T. Judd's opinions. They have ruined all radio. 94.9 The Bull was my last hope, since they just played music all day (even if it was country), but they stopped doing that too and talk the whole way to work and home. Sucks royally. I don't care if it is the smartest, most interesting person in the world on the radio - I'd rather hear music than talking anytime. |
Cumulus finally killed 99x. Ended last week with them firing just about the entire current staff (including long-time founders Steve Craig and Leslie Fram). I've heard rumor they yanked Steve right off the air during his show. Another class act from corporate America. Apparently 99x is now internet stream and HD only (and even more crappy than usuall since all their decent program blocks and jocks got chased off), some left overs went to 100.5 with Q99/Q100 getting moved over to 99x's ~100kw stick so they can compete with Star 94 or whatever. As far as I know, Project 961 and Album 88 are the only "alternative" stations left in Atlanta (even though 99x has been in a program slump for the last couple of years they had some decent blocks). |
yep, they have been back on the air for maybe 3 weeks or less. they act like they never left. they brought back the F.U. line, homeless Kariokee, and all the toilet humor that made them famous. is it low brow humor? yes. is it funnier than anything else on the radio? also yes. |
     is the F.U. line still the same? 404-870-5010??? during high school, the regular guys was the only thing that kept my sleeping schedule straight cause i tried to go to sleep early to listen to them, then sit in the senior parking lot missing the 1st half of 1st period or so. after they got dropped,around my soph year of college, sleeping went to crap.
