MedWAR is an adventure race leaning more towards the medical aspects of of the outsoors, that takes place at Fort Gordon in Augusta.

I have never personally done one, till this upcoming race, so bare with me if I state something that is incorrect.

The race has different legs(i.e. physical events), which could be like 1/3 canoeing, 1/3 running, and 1/3 biking. each team is made up of 4 people, medical experience is not required but its real helpful if you know a few things. The race has different stages, one is a mock helicopter crash and you must assist the wounded, another might be a CPR stage, another might be a broken leg and you must evac that person out.

the cost per team is $200. but if you could, you might be able to find a team sponser to pay for your fee. you can camp there free for the weekend.

like i said i havent done one before but it sounds like a great event for you outdoors enthusiast's.

heres the site.... MedWAR

Medwar is fun and very educational.  I would recommend going at least once.

Yes.  I helped with recruiting twice and was able to participate once.  Looks like it has really grown.  If I would have known better I would have went to the very first one (just so I could say I did), but I was too busy (life story ).

My brother in law is going. Here's hoping he doesn't get eaten in the swamp full of alligators they advertise.

My buddy is a critical care nurse stationed at Fort Gordon.
We're thinking about participating, I think it would be a ton of fun.

Plus it's free scouting for turkey season there
