Guys remember to be here by 8:30. The first shot will be fired at 9:00 sharp. You can bring a chair to take out on the range if you want. There will be no cars allowed past the range shack. We have drinks and concessions in the range shack. This will last majority of the day.

Make sure you to let me know if your coming. I would hate for someone to come up and not be able to shoot.

Jason just let me know about the gift certificate.

Thanks Joe

I would love to shoot but all I have is a Varminter(223).

Will this work?  I have shot it 500 yards before but nothing more.

1/25/2008 6:30:25 AM EDT

Yeah the round count is between 22 and 30. You have 22 targets and 30 rounds can be shot at the 22 targets. We will also have a fun money shoot at the end.

Thanks Joe

me and Mark will be there.

Question: I use my riflescope as a spotter (25x magnification).  If I take out the bolt and magazine, can I use it as the spotter when it's Mark's turn to shoot?

I was about to say.  Just picked up a DPMS AP4 .308 the other day.  Haven't shot it yet.

My AR15 is sighted in, but 48 inches of drop would be kind of hard to guesstimate with just an eotech.  hehe

Good luck, guys.

Yeah Allen that is fine. And yes there is a space limit on this one, I have down who has confirmed. We only have 1 or 2 slots left.

Yeah, "Trust your instruments" right. I am glad we had Einstien with us.

Na, I got too much homework to do. But I am in the process of rearranging funds to buy a nice setup to shoot with.

Absolutely had a wonderful time, Joe.  You put on a great match.  Very challenging and I learned a lot.  Wonderful group of folks too.  Not a bad attitude or ego in the lot, which is a rare thing at some of these matches.

I'll be back for sure.

Those of you that didn't go, missed out on a great time. The match was definetely challenging, but it was more of a friendly get together than a cut-throat competition.

Congrats to our Moderator Bookhound, whose PSS with the slow-ass GA Arms ammo took 3rd place. I did a lot better than I expected for having a new load with no drop data at all, but will definetely be more prepared the next time.

Joe was saying today that this will probably be a quarterly event, so those of you who missed it can go the next time.

Sorry, no pics from me and I didn't see many cameras out there-so I dunno if anybody will be posting any.

Maybe next time there will be more room. I'm surprised that it filled up so quickly. I never can give a for sure on weekends especially when things taken me out of town for a day or two because of work.

Yeah, apparently the initial slots filled up quick. According to Joe, he said he's hoping to be able to do 2 stages at a time the next time around-so the number of slots will be nearly doubled.

Yeah, you know it was a bad shot when the first words out of your spotters mouth is a reluctant "wow" followed by "Dude, that was like 2' low", lol. I thought that was classic Mark when I heard that one. Joe (GTG922E) told me shortly afterwards that a simple correction will do from me.

Looking forward to seeing the pics....

I would like to thanks Joe and his crews to set up this event. I had a great time, learned a lot about shooting, and most of all hanging out with all the great friends. The attitude around the match was great and everybody is friendly.

Picture of Mark preparing to shoot at unknown distance( I guess about 420 yards) and Allen on the ground as a spotter for. Mark has to shoot from the ladder and through the little window and hit 4 targets and then run to the little bunker with all his gears and shoot 4 more targets. I found that was the hardest position the shoot because the ladder is not the good platform at all.

Allen and Mark fall sleep in the bunker...

I was laughing so hard when Joe said, "That's not good when the first word from the spotter is 'WOW!'".

What was even funnier was then I looked over at Fro1911Nut and he just spun the target knob like it was the Wheel of Fortune.  I started laughing harder and then his next shot was nearly on the target.  After that he was dead on.  Too funny.

I wanted to personally thank all the people who came out to the challenge. I really enjoyed it. Hope to see everyone at the next one. It will be just as fun and a little bit more sniper oriented(positions). Sorry about the concessions during the break. I will have someone dedicated to running that alone next time. Once again thanks to everyone.
