Yeah, I got nailed on the way home up I85 last night by Gwinnett.  He paced me.

But, on the ticket, he didn't check the speeding box and wrote speeding under "other" on the line below that.

He also didn't put the speed on the ticket.  How  they heck do they determine the fine or was that a booboo by him?

What burned me about it is that he had been pacing me for a while and apparently was okay with my speed.  When I came up behind this one guy that wouldn't get over and visibly increased his speed to keep me from getting by him on the right.  I incresased my speed to get by him and I was had.  Those are the buttholes who never get tickets and he created the situation.  It's like most of the "victims" of road rage are the ones who instigate but they never get nailed.

He also said I was weaving in and out of traffic to which I took a little offense.  I asked him since when is moving to the left lane to pass someone and then back into the right after doing so is "weaving in and out of traffic"?  The only one that I could see him saying that to is the one guy in question whom I cut in front of to get by because there was another car in the right lane..  Of course, he said he didn't see the part where the guy increased his speed, trying to keep me from getting by, and would not move over.

Anyway, he got me, but like I said, how are they gonna determine the fine?

It's no one's fault but mine, but I really wish they would pay more attention to dickweeds who have some kind of issue with being courteous and letting other people just go by.

Oh, the PO had no sense of humor whatsoever.  When he first came up, I said "would you believe that the car is evil and made me do it?" with a smile and he said "huh".  I said "nevermind, it was a joke".  Sheesh.

Not sure about the ticket, but I would definitely go to court on that and point it out to the judge that there isnt a speed written down........how could they fine you if they dont know the speed? I think that's a boo-boo on his part...........if he tries to go back and write it in, you have your copy. When I was in the LEO field, a local judge in Bartow threw a ticket out because it was incomplete. When the police get behind me like that, I usually set my cruise control at 1 mile per hour below the speed limit and drag them until they get tired and go around me

i'd make a joke about Larry posting his 7yr driving record here...but then i thought it would only be half a joke since i'd like to see it.

In court ask to see the calibration report of the cops speedometer of the car he used to pace you.  I have no idea if he has to have one but it's worth a shot.

Since I work for the agency in question, I'll say that the speedometers are verified monthly as part of the vehicle inspection process. If it's not within +/- 1mph it has to go to fleet maintanence for repair. So there will be records.
As for no speed being written on your citation, it'll get thrown out. It's an incomplete ticket. I don't know if there is anything specifically saying that the speed has to be written down, but I know our Recorders Court judges won't let that fly.

Does the ticket say "speeding" or something to that effect? is the code section 40-6-181?

if so, with no speed there should be no ticket.

Nope, the 929.  I have never been stopped in the RX7 which you would think would be just the opposite.

I haven't had a ticket in about 5 years, so my 7 year driving record is just fine, thank you.

That's what I was wondering about.  Thank you.

Was that you that got me?
