Why do you ask??

They are about 10 miles from me, but I've never done business with them.

They charge a 13% buyers premium if you bid in person.

Buyer's Premium: Every lot sold by electronic medium by Montrose Auction Inc. is subject to a 18% buyer's premium, which must be paid by the buyer.

Itt's also my understanding that they charge the seller 8% to sell an item. I'm not 100% sure what they charge the seller, but the buyers premium is listed on their website.

IMHO their fees are are little high for my tastes.

On principle buyers premiums piss me off. It should be factored out of the bid price.. Economically speaking its just another way to hose the consumer

A newspaper ad I saw said they held a firearms auction with over 300 firearms to be sold, I thought maybe that was a middle ga secret.  BTW Dec. 15, as normal for me, I read it on the 18th.

My dad buys antiques at the Montrose auction. He never mentioned anything about the buyers premium and I wonder if that is just on guns. Dad has been there on the nights they are selling guns.He specifically said he didn't see any black rifles and very few if any any collectible weapons at a decent price. Most people seemed to be overpaying because they got caught up in the auction mentality and the prices would make it difficult for FFL's to turn much of a profit.
