Well, I survived, just barely. It all started with me working one of my off days last weekend, then into 3 double shifts Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (The dreaded midnight/day kind....the worst) due to having to go to technical training after my regular shift (made a 100 on my exam at the end of class), and culminated with me in the surgery center on Friday morning having steroids injected between my c6/c7 vertebrae to try to get this bulged disk to behave. The sensation of having a long needle or two inserted in the space around your spinal cord should not be missed, and they insure that you don't miss it by not giving you any drugs at all and you are awake during the procedure. Sleep, it's not just for breakfast anymore. |
I really enjoyed the time I had my spinal tap a few years ago as the doctor decided it would be a fantastic idea to miss and have to perform it a second time. Then to top that I got a massive headache from it due the there being an imbalance of fluid in the spine...took them 3 days to perform a blood patch....it was pure joy ![]() I'm sure you're glad your week is over. Relax, and enjoy the weekend. |

Things are turning around. I'm making plenty of money right now, so I've started to get a handle on the finances, now that the initial shock is over. If I can get a handle on the daily headache from the neck thing, I'd feel alot better about things. I don't mind working alot, but I'd rather do it without having to manage pain at the same time. I appreciate your good wishes, they help! |

The one good thing that came from this was my blood pressure. They had me hooked to one of those automatic cuffs during the procedure and I had a 98/68 before the procedure and the prep nurse was like "wow, you have great blood pressure", and the highest it ever went under stress was 113/78. Good to know the old ticker is working easy. |

When I was doing telecom stuff and getting paid hourly, I either had too much time off and not enough money or too much money (as if there is such a thing) and not enough time off to enjoy it. Is the back trouble related to your recent accident? Hope you get some sleep and some relief from the pain. I know a good chiropractor in the Lawrenceville area if you're interested. |
We run hot and cold as well, but it is hot right now since we recently reorganized the maintenance department and they understaffed my section rather badly, and we lost one machinist to promotion to supervisor, so overtime is necessary right now to cover the shortfall in manpower. Yeah, the neck/back stuff is all related to the whiplash injury that I got in the accident. Prior to the accident I never had any trouble with my neck or back since I've managed to keep myself in good physical condition and avoid attacks of the stupid as it applied to my back. I should know in the next few days how the steroids are working, it takes 2 days for it to start to absorb, and I may have to have the procedure done more than one time to get full relief. Thanks for the good thoughts, PM me the Chiropractors name, I may see one sometime in the future if I cannot get relief through regular doctors. |
