where do i find police trade in pistols? preferably Sig226 9mm.

Sig has a certified pre-owned line. Alot of them are police turn-ins. They replace any worn parts, and in some cases, produce frankenstein parts bin guns.

I picked up this stainless P220 for $600.

And a 1992 W. German P220 for $500.

Got both at the AR Bunker.

Clyde Armory in Athens. www.policeguns.com They have a lot of trade ins for reasonable prices. I'm not sure on the sigs (I know they have them) but I got a Smith .40 w/night sights $350.00 The only problem with police trade ins is blued/painted finishes are usually worn from the holster.
