From a 3 Gun newb... :D I put this up in the 3 Gun forum, then realized that I'd probably get a better answer from someone in my own state! Any of you shoot the heavy class? I enjoy .45, and 308 very much. Being a former 60 gunner back in the ole Army days, I learned to enjoy hefting the hog. I'm a bigger guy in good shape, so I like the bigger guns... Being new to 3 Gun, I was advised that I'd probably enjoy the heavy class. But it doesn't seem that too many guys shoot this class, is that simply because AR's in 556 are so prevalent? I was also told that 308's on the AR platform aren't reliable, I've no experience with any AR10 variants; but I'd be hard pressed to believe that a 308 from POF would be unreliable. I'd love to see some vids of a heavy class 3 gun shoot. Or even better someone who shoots 3 Gun in Georgia willing to show a 3 gun newb the ropes! Are there any events pending in the near future that one would be able to come and check out? |

That sounds great, I will be there. I've never been to a 3 Gun before, but several friends who do it elsewhere; and I've seen their vids. It would be nice to get out of the comfort of a range, and really do some shooting. I live in Sandy Springs, right on the banks of the ole hooche. Is there a good size group in the area? |
