I'd like to take my 8 year old daughter shooting for the first time. I'd like to find a calm place where she and I can shoot without others nearby freaking her out. Are there any public ranges that would be good to take a very young first timer?

BTW - She'll be shooting my 10/22

Generally, during the weekdays (working hours) the madison range is empty. My son and i usually have it to ourselves.

Creekside is pretty quiet on sundays.

If you pay for an instructional class at bullseye in cumming they open up early and you have the place to yourself.

Try the Sportmans Lodge in Oakwood. I've been there on a Saturday at 1:00pm and there were only one or two other folks in there. I have been there on the weekdays and been the only one there. It is clean and the folks there are real nice.

Thanks for the ideas. We are going on Monday morning ... assuming she doesn't chicken out. After looking over Creekside's web page, I think that is the best place.
