4 Acres = how much in yards/meters in a straight line? Thanks Wolf |

an acre is a unit of area. if it's square, it would be 208' by 208'. it doesn't really matter what shape it is, as long as it is a little over 43,000 square feet. if you're looking at a section that is 4 acres long and 1 acre wide, the long side would be about 832'. -matt edit: 832' = 277 yards and some change. |

Acreage is an area measurement, but it sounds like you are looking for a linear measurement. I'm guessing that is why you are frustrated. I have no idea how you convert an area measurement into a linear/distance measurement. Can you post the question as it was given to you? I'm sure you've googled it, but here's what comes up when you convert it to other area measurements: 1 Acre = 43,560 square feet 1 Acre = 160 square rods 1 Acre = 1.1834 square arpents 1 Acre = 10 square chains 1 Acre = 160 square rods 1 Acre = 160 perches 1 Acre = 160 poles 1 Acre = .4047 hectare 1 Acre = 4047 square meters 1 Acre = is about 208 3/4 feet square 1 Acre Square = 5645.376 square varas I guess if you had 4 square acres, it would be 417 1/2 feet per side of the square. |
