Anybody know of a gun store near them that happens to have a decent FAL clone on their shelves?  I've been looking for a 308 rifle and have been leaning towards a FAL.  I'm in the Smyrna area, but would be willing to drive around for a decent deal.

Last time I was at bullseye in Lawrenceville they had two DSA FALs on the rack.  I might not be right but I think that they were both $1099.99.

+ 1 for Clyde. Not to take anything away from Bullseye, as it's a great shop too, but Clyde's more likely to have what you're looking for.

I'm a proud FAL clone owner, but have to ask what you plan on getting one for?
I see too many guys get one not realizing it's a battle rifle and think they'll get 1/2 moa groups right out of the box.

What other rifles are you considering?

Last weekend Clyde had a DSA STG58 for $999...it looked really good on the outside but I didn't inspect the inside.

I want a 308 rifle that I can put onto a paper plate at 100 yards with irons given practice.  Reasonably priced and plentiful mags are a huge plus.

I've shot a friends Springfield M1A, and it's a nice piece, but to be honest I don't like it enough to get one of my own.    The only other ones I'm seriously considering are the DPMS 308's.

FAL can do minute of paper-plat just fine.

Ditto to what Simpson said. I'll be more than pleased with a FAL clone then. They're great battle rifles, just not really tack drivers by nature.
