I have an full auto SP1 conversion and a Daniel Defense Large whole flat top Upper.  I would like to get a decent barrel assembly for the upper that can take sustained full auto fire?  I would like to keep the length to 16" or less.

Any suggestions on Barrels? Should I go heavy or a barrel with flutes for heat dissipation?

I would like to use it with my M42000, and a beta mag

Thanks!

Colt 14.5" SOCOM barrel

CMMG heavy barrel

FWIW, I would just locate some decent used barrels on the EE and run those if you are going to be doing alot of mag dumps. Sustained automatic fire from an M16/M4 causes undue wear and higher temps which shorten the life of a barrel, hence why that role is left to SAW and M240 gunners. The two I mentioned are both very good barrels, and I have run them both in F/A. IIRC, CMMG makes the heavy profile in 16", 14.5", 11.5", and 10.3", so you have alot of options, and they are a good value.

Let me know if you decide to go the CMMG route, and I'll ask them which barrel they recommend as well as get you a good price on one.

I've enjoyed LMT C/L barrels on mine.  Any F/A will get hot, but I've never had any sort of trouble at all with my 14" and 10.5" ones.
