One opening left. Folks, I advertised this locally and now have one opening left and thought I would bring it to the HT forum in the event someone here is interested. I am just pasting the e-mail I sent out into the body of this post with all of the class and contact info. You can also read more about Tiger in the current issue of SWAT magazine. If there is a greater interest than the one, I can arrange to bring Tiger back in on another date as I have some free space on our ranges' schedule. Please contact me via e-mail or phone after 8PM until 6AM if you have any questions. Book, if this is out of line, delete it. I'm not making anything on this class, other than the customary comp, but believe me, I'll earn it with the range set-up and admin duties. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pinetucky Gun Club and myself are hosting a 2 day Defensive Carbine Class on April 21-22. In an attempt to make available top notch professional instruction available locally we have spoken with Shootrite Academy to bring their class down here so we can avoid costly and inconvenient travel on our part. The class instruction will be given by Tiger McKee, owner of Shootrite Academy. Tiger is a member of IALEFI and ILEETA, both are law enforcement instructor organizations, an adjunct instructor for Thunder Ranch and an instructor for Rifles Only. Tiger also teaches several other classes and if there is a positive response to this opportunity we can schedule him in for those in the future. The Defensive Carbine Class covers the basics of fighting with the AR Carbine in urban environments. Covers safety, combative marksmanship, and weapons manipulations. You will need 800-1000 rounds of ammunition, 3 magazines, elbow and knee pads along with eye and ear protection. The class will also cover transition drills on the second day so a pistol and 50 rounds of pistol ammunition will also be required. The cost of the class including all fees due to Pinetucky for renting the ranges for the two days is 350.00. 50% due at registration and the other 50% by the first week of April. I will be handling the registration process for this class so contact me directly concerning that. The class size will be between 6 and 8 people and I will begin registering immediately. We have purposely kept the class size smaller than most in order to insure everyone gets good instruction and the attention that they need to make the class beneficial. Please respond early as I expect the class to fill quickly. Please direct any enrollment questions to me via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone, preferably after 8PM until 6AM or on the week-ends. (yep, I got the AM/PM thing right this time) If you have questions about the training itself, visit www.shootrite.org and contact Tiger through his website. Be sure that you mention that it is concerning the Pinetucky Class. Thanks, Bill Zollo www.patriotcustoms.com 706-495-8617 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ |

I trained with Tiger about two years ago out at Lamar Jaggars range in Gadsden Alabama. It was this same class. Tiger's doctrine is Thunder Ranch straight forward. He is a very deliberate instructor who really drives the basics home and has a good mindset lecture. Plenty of good repetition. He highly endorses the lightweight KISS principle of the rifle. He shoots an old 1/12 twist .625 early A1 upper Colt carbine with triangle handguards and a simple GI slingand a streamlight weapon mount screwed to the handguard. Weight of about 5.5 pounds. His teamwork and communication portion on TD2 is very good. I did not like his method of slinging the rifle or his transition method. That is the only negative thing that I left with. But its because he highly endorses the KISS principle. I can highly recommend his class. |
