Hi all. I want to buy a couple of FAL receivers from DSA. Can anyone recommend a FFL dealer that I could go through? (Near-Atlanta area.) thanks Kevin |
i know graziani has some on order but said that they would be several months before they shipped. I am transferring his for him. you might be able to get him to order a few extra for ya. ETA: where exactly are you? |

I don't know about how DSA handles their FFL's as I haven't ordered from them, but Tucker Gun will do a transfer for you for $25. Ask for Lee, he knows about FAL's. Anyway, normally you just get a signed copy of Tucker Gun's FFL and send it to DSA to have on File. From what I have read on the Falfile just tell them at DSA that you are a member of the Falfiles and they will give you dealer pricing and have it shipped to your FFL after they recieve a copy. Then you pay a $25 transfer fee when it arrives and you pick it up.. Only problems I see with this is that DSA is apparently no longer a sponsor at the Files and Tucker Gun (now Gun Depot I think but I still call them Tucker Gun) usually won't call you when an item arrives. So Tucker Gun might be nearby, (not sure where Kblagg is), but Kblagg might be easier to deal with. |
I'm over in Athens. I signed up for a dealer acct earlier today. I'll call on tues and see what the turn around time is for a dealer order and see if its any shorter. We charge $15 for single firearm transfers and 20 for multiple. |
Athens isn't that far and $15 is more than reasonable. Kblagg would be the easiest to deal with by far, forgot I got mags from him once. Just me but I'd give more than $15 if Kblagg does the ordering, ect... I forgot to add that DSA's dealer price is $325 if I remember correctly, cost could vary depending on what type you are getting though I honestly don't know, just going on what I've read on people arguing on prices, Coonan vs DSA vs Imbel, ect... For example people have been saying that if the new Coonan's are $300 then they'll just get a DSA for the $325 dealer price. If you need help building it just speak up and I'm sure someone will help out. I've got all of the tools except my timing tool went tits up when it got knocked off the workbench by mistake. |
if the turnaround time is quicker for a dealer, then i dont mind ordering them and yall can just come down and pick them up. i dont mind |
| Athens isn't to far for me to drive. Heck I used to work at the Winder airport so I made most of the drive every day (back before gas prices hit the roof). So if its cook Kblagg I'd like to order a couple from you. E-mail me off the list and I give you the particulars and we can arange for $ |
I'll call on tuesday and we'll go from there. Which ones and how many are you looking for? |
|
kblagg ---I'm looking to get 2. A type 1 with no carry handle cut (pn 0291NCHC) and either a type 1 with carry hadle cut (0291CHC) or type 2 with carry handle cut (292CHC), which ever they have on hand. broncobisley1--Yeah I'll yell If I need some help---looks to be a pretty fun build. |
I just talked to them and they said the type I, no carry handle cuts are the easiest to get right now, all others are about 1.5 month wait. |
Athens? Why did i have it in my mind that you were in Marietta or Smyrna? Must be too much cordite fumes inhalation.... |
not too sure, maybe you remember something about the marietta show i went to a while back? |

Talked to DSA today to order a couple more receivers for another arfcom members. Kev156, they said I should have yours in give or take 2 weeks. v8power, they said it could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. They have some in stock, but she wasnt sure if this order would be filled in that batch or the next batch. |
| I forgot to mention that FAL recievers don't seem to be much of a priority to DSA these days. The wait times are long from what I've read, so whatever DSA says I'd add some more time to that. Just be happy that Kblagg is willing to order them for everyone, for cost plus shipping and transfer fee. Otherwise the cost is between $429-460 (can't remember exact amount) plus shipping and transfer fee. |
After shipping, sales tax, transfer, blah blah blah, they are $430 each. Still a better deal than having to get them from DSA at $450, then having to pay for shipping plus a transfer fee. |
