Hello - Quick question - I just got my 551 and am about to mount it...

I currently have a GG&G firerail riser on my flat-top. I use this becuase it is more comfortable with my ACOG. Shoud I mount the EOTech on the riser rail or to the flat-top? I'm not too concearned about BUIS co-witnessing....

Thanks for the help

I'm not familiar with that riser, but I would say to mount the EOTech however it is most comfortable height-wise to you.

Is that riser a QD riser?  How is the ACOG attached to it?

Any pics?

Here is a picture. You can see the riser

Wow, you really like the ACOG that high?  I guess if you like the ACOG that high I'd say mount the EOTech that high as well.  Keeps things consistent at least.

What are your plans for that blaster, have two optics and swap them around?  If so, think about getting some quality QD mounts, like LaRue or (shudder) ARMS.  (I'm a huge LaRue fan.  ARMS stuff is okay, but LaRue is better.  And I can't stand Dick Swan's freakin' attitude.)

I have an arms mount for the EO and have ordered an ARMS for the ACOG. Last week I took the ACOG off the riser and I think I like it better. I will most likely be getting a new RRA Entry Tactical soon and I will most likely mount the EO on that permantly.

Thanks for the info

It's all just preferance, but I'd say ditch the riser.
