Well, just got back from the Eastman Gunshow at Macon. Save your $7 and gas. All the crap was overpriced as hell. I understand the dealers need to make a living, but some of them prices were just outrageous. $35 for a USA Magazine for the AR-15. I've seen better prices at a pawn shop. Some prices of firearms were pretty much what you'd expect to pay at a gun store. Some ammo prices were pretty decent. 500rounds of 9mm 124gr FMJ with an ammo can for $47. And 500rounds of .22 caliber Aquila silent rounds (no gunpowder) for $20. As for accessories, forget about it. Going to stick with EE and the Internet for my firearm needs. |

I went to the show also, it was one of the best Macon has had in a long time. Some prices were outragous, expecially a Bushmaster preban M4 that was listed at $1750, but a lot of the prices were very reasonable. I saw USGI 30 rnd mags for $15 which is not too bad. Handgun prices were pretty good as well. If you liked old Winchester 52, and Rem 40X Rimfires there were plenty but they came with a price, although a couple of them were probably worth it. I thought it was one of the better shows (for Macon). I picked up an A2 grip for my RRA. I just don't like the Hogues. Also, picked up a Benchmade Osborne. Nice. I saw several dealers with lowers, but didn't check the price. Actually, I was looking for complete flat top uppers! Saw none. I will actually be able to go to the one in Gwinnett next week as well since I'm taking my kids to the new (expensive) aquarium. Those always seem good. |
| I grew up around Macon. The gunshows don't compair to the Atlanta shows. But it was better than nothing. Ammo and I got a very good deal for a Laminate SAR1 from Classic arms a year or so ago. I think I paid $270 for it. I liked the Atlanta south gunshow Ga Mountains used to have at the Flea market along side the interstate where the big Flag is. But NATC is the best I have been to in Ga. Im hopeing to try the Charlette gun shows up here out. Winston Salem and Hickory sucked over all. LOL.... Yall take care, WarDawg |
me too. i ponied up the cash for some canned heat and 1,000 .45 230 gr fmj to reload with. i saw USED ar-15 mags for $25. hurt my feelings some! as someone else said, i'm going to stick to the internet for may accessories. -matt |
You don't remember the first time we met at CE? I had been telling you that I had been having problems with FTE's and had switched to Black Hills and you said you'd never had a problem. Then low and behold it happened with the GA stuff in one of your 180's. I will say one thing about GA though. If you have a problem they're johnny on the spot in resolving the issue. I had bought 500 rds from them and took about 400 back because some of the loads were too hot and they gave me another 500 rds and made sure it was from a different run no questions asked. |
Umm, I forgot. Been so long ago. No problems since. Like you said, they will make good in a heartbeat. |

I use the GA 147gr +P 9mm GDHP for my carry pistols and I've never had a problem with them. Never had to shoot anyone but they sure do group nice during practice. $14.50/50 looks steep until you compare it to $14.50/20 rounds from a shop. I was shooting sub 2" groups on a rainy day with canned heat on Sunday @ 100yds off a bipod. I really like the affordability factor of their ammo. |
