I am tired of goingto the range solo and would like to meet some members from the site to shoot with. Thinking about going Saturday. I live in Dallas and usually go to Advanced Bullets in Temple, but it tends to be a little crowded on the weekends. Any other suggestions for ranges? Anyone here have property they shoot on? Just bought a BM M4 A3 and a USP 40 and am itching to put some rounds through them. Matt |
I have never been on a weekday. I am usually at work or school during the week. I have a break in school coming up soon and might venture out there during the week. Although, Saturdays aren't bad if you get there early or right before lunch. I plan on going Saturday morning right when they open. |
| They are AR friendly, but I got warned for rapid fire the weekend before last. As for the rate, I was there for 5 hours the other day and didn't spend more than $20...I think... Very affordable and they have good prices on reloads. I usually pick .223 in a 500 rd can from my local shop for $80. |

I am in Dallas, too. I am always up to go shooting. Lamar's in Rockmart will allow rifles if you are shooting soft points. Not a very modern range, but close and cheap. Greg at Advanced is an exceptional shotgun coach. I have taken lessons from him and he is top notch. |

Hey Byte, If you are talking about the Advanced range, don't worry about bringing your own targets. They will give you a target glued on a piece of cardboard. They have these metal holders that the cardboard fits on to. It's really not a bad setup at all. It's cheap to shoot plus they give you the target. As far as this Saturday, my gf has an exciting day of Christmas shopping planned for me. I live about 10 minutes from that range but I'm headed to Atlanta. I wish that I could join you guys... I and my other half would be up for that, most definitely if some FA goodness might happen! I like Greg at Adv Bullets but the place isn't exactly AR/AK perfection, with the no rapid fire rules. The ground is mud covered in empty casings, so you crunch around and cant put anything down for fear of scratches and dirt. (He could use some new benches too, they're kinda beat!) BTW go2cnavy, My chick and I plus my friend w/wife were the people shooting next to you when you got bitched at for RFing your pistol! I was the one shooting all the Mauser/Mosin/Swiss bolt guns and my new Arsenal AK. We are going Wednesday to Adv. Bullets 'round noon probably.... Saturday is out of the question for the Elmer Fudd factor there! Typical Saturday: Load...Aim...CLEAR!! ...dammit.. (Ten minute pause while Elmer checks his target...) OK...HOT!! Load...Aim...Shoot...Load....Aim....CLEAR!!!) |

Fellas... I do NOT own the land. I know the owner of the land and he is a budding black rifle psycho waiting to happen (he might disagree...though, I know I am right ).It will take some time to vet this out and work through safety stuff. Next weekend I will be stuck at the gun show and the weekend after that I will have to make up my absence to the little lady pictured to the left. The following weekend is Christmas. Not to throw cold water on this... But... I will aim for January to put this together. Discussions will begin Monday and I will post results as soon as I can. Agreed? JK |
Welllll.... My daughter is 18 months and I taught her to say "machinegun."  She says: "chinegun."  Personally, I think it is adorable! Others will probably call me cracked.She identifies all firearms as chineguns. Mama's and Dada's sidearms are chineguns. Dada's M4geries are chineguns. Dada's bolt and lever guns are chineguns! Wow! I love her! JK

I dont have a problem with anyone coming...It's a public range anyway so how could I say no? I will be there with an AR and a AK and some bolt guns. (I think I'll take out the Swiss pair this time!) I may not get out there until 3:00pm though. Saturday might be a possibility I suppose, if I get what I'm waiting for by then...(New C&R). If I do I'll post! |

CHINEGUN UPDATE: I have worked through some of the details with my buddy. I believe this will become a reality... Give us a little longer to clean up the details.
