I'm moving to SW Atlanta near Peachtree City.  Can someone please give me some ideas of good places to shoot or private clubs to check out.  I'm spoiled...my club in MI is 5 miles from my house.  I don't want to have to drive an hour each time I go shoot.

I shoot Rifle 100-500m, handgun, trap, sproting clays.  I've been to Tom Lowe range for trap but they don't have sporting clays.  I've seen the site for  the Cherokee Gun Club.  They have a sporting clays range but it's 90 miles away.

Try Bigredoakplantation.com. I do not know if they have rifle ranges, but they do have sporting clays.

So what do you drive???

Sorry had to ask.  I turn the wrenches which keep the engines turning.

For starters there anything past 200yds is going to be tough.

For indoor, you have Autrys in Fayetteville off of rt314, or Atlanta Range and Guns behind Georgia Farmers Market in Forest Park.

Outdoor range for rifle, pistol, clays and such, I believe that Advanced Bullets in Carrolton may be a choice.

If you are looking for a place to "bang" away with rifle and pistol (200yds) there is a small private range outside of Palmetto called "Bobs custom firearms" (IIRC)
The dues are 125 a year.  He's ok about AR/AK's but don't get to crazy.  (bumping is a BIG NONO.) trust me.  I go there often. I live here at Thomas Crossroads.

As for free, there is a DNR range down in LaGrange.  West Point WMA.  It only has a 100yrd berm.  Plane Jane but its free and has cover, (Bobs, doesn't)

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

So if I may ask, who do you fly for?
Know anyone looking for a good A&P?

Buzz

PS.  turn on you IM dude.

Thanks for the info Buzz.  I'll give 'em all a looksee.  Fixed the IM.
I fly for Flight Options out of Cleveland.  It's a time share in corporate jet program.  I'm current in the Gulfstream IV and the Ebraer Legacy (a fancied up Embraer EMB-135).

I'm moving down the beginning of Dec.  I'll be looking for either a regular corporate gig or an airline gig (if I can find one with a financial future).  If I find any A+P stuff, I'll let you know.

Thanks Woody.  I checked that post out too.  I like that it's organized by town but I was finding some ranges that weren't listed there.

My club here in MI wasn't listed on the State DNR web site or the NRA site.  I found it by word of mouth.

I have to learn the area yet so I know whats close and what's out of the way.  I'm moving to the north side of Sharpsburg...just east of Peachtree City.

Thanks again,

Rich

As I've heard and noted on many an episode of COPS.   There was this one a while back where they did  a drug and prostitution sting on this roach motel across from Fulton County Brown Field.  I'v flown in there a hundred times.  I go "hey...that place is just across from Fulton County Airport!  I fly in there all the time" to my Fiance'.  She raises an eyebrow, looks me in the eye and says..."OH REEEEEEEALY?!?!?!"  Sorry babe, not my kinda place !!
