[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about Georgia WMAs

I have been trying to contact the John's Mountain Wilderness Management Area and I have not been able to get a hold of them. I was trying to see if their shooting range was open on sunday so I could take my family out there. I know some WMA ranges are only open monday through saturday, but does anyone know about Johns Mountain? Or does anyone have a working number I could contact them at? Thanks, Rick

Where is the John's Mountain Range?

If it's the range off of 411 near the TN/GA border then yes, its is open on Sundays. I usually go early to avoid the after church crowd.

I dont think its that far north. Its off 136 south of dalton. Thanks for the help tho! Rick

Acording to my map,it looks like it is about 15-20 miles from the state line to Hwy. 136.

But highway 411 is on the other side of 75, up near TN. I still havent been able to find out if its open...arggg
