I know, I know I'm full of questions today.  My radiator just went out on my Grand Cherokee.  I haven't decided on OEM or aftermarket but does anyone know a good place to buy either and what a quality aftermarket brand is?

Check with the local radiator shops to see what price they give you for it. Then try a search for radiators online.

I bought one online and ended up sending it back becuase they sent me the wrong one. The local radiator shop was within abour $15-20 of the online price.

If you have problems with one you buy local, at least you can go back for warranty work. If you buy one online, warranty work will be a pain.

I'd compare OEM, but when I had a cherokee (87) with the expansion bottle, just the bottle was $80, and the jeep killed them about once a year.

We were recently at Carmax looking at new Jeeps.  They have a huge service department.  Maybe they could be of some help?

I would check the dealer on an OEm part, then check your local radiator places, and then the local parts houses, and go with whoever gives you the best combination of price and warranty.

I recently replaced several parts on an older BMW and the dealer was cheaper on most of the parts.

I have a 89 GTA Trans Am and i had to replace my radiator and i bought one from Carquest, cheaper then OEM, and it came with a warranty, but i had to do the labor myself. Well, would rather do it myself then pay someone else to. But it sprung a leak about 8 months after and they replaced it free, minus my labor. It had a 1 year warranty on it. This radiator has lasted the past 2 years now. If you don't mind the labor and feel confident doing it yourself, i'd say after market.

Autozone radiator should work fine.

I can get you a good deal on a new rad, but you will have to eat the shipping to get it to you

I am a mechanic, and have my own auto repair buisness, and get great deals on parts, it would be a modine radiator...

im me if you are interested, but price it first so you know how the price stacks p, but I would say 150 or less for it  (guestimate)

I think I have a modine in 2 or more of my vehicles.  No problems and every bit the equal to OEM.

I put a Modine in my '94 Wrangler last year and I haven't had a problem. Very easy to install.

Well my guy in Athens said they deal a lot with Modine radators but said they didn't offer one for my make and model.  He said he can get a CSF.  It only has a 1 year warranty.  Anyone herad of that company.

What year is your Jeep?

My friend's mom works down the road at Modine and I can find out if they make them or not and what her cost would be.

Just let me know.

On a jeep I would go with aftermarket.  Chances are the aftermarket product is made by the same company that supplies the dealers with the OEM stuff anyway.  With a jeep I would go with whoever has the cheepest price.
