| I'm looking to pick up a new safe soon. What brands/manufacturers do you recommend and why? Any good deals locally? |
|
Come down this way and go to Discover Mills. They have a Safe Warehouse, or something like that, just outside Bass Pro. Good deals on all kinds of safes. Whatever you do, pick out the biggest safe you think you need - and then buy the next largest one! You will outgrow whatever safe you buy QUICKLY! |

Whatever you do, pick out the biggest safe you think you need - and then buy the next largest one! You will outgrow whatever safe you buy QUICKLY! EXACTLY, Buy the biggest safe you can afford! Champions are nice(friend has one of those), I bought a nice Liberty. If you like John Deere, stop by your local tractor dealership they have some nice ones. Other wise, cheap out the place at BookHound was talking about, it is good to go. Also, buy a dehumidifier, good deal on one here. http://silverstarsurplus.com/drirod.html And you can get a nice light kit at your local Home Depot. If you opt for these options to be included w/ the safe, you will end up paying a lot more than what they normally cost. They are fairly easy to install, and hiding the wires is normally not a problem. Good Luck! |
I was actually there last night and looked at the one in the store that had nothing but safes as well as Bass Pro ETA: Are there any particular features that I need to look for or certain brands that are better than others? |

If your business and personal firearms are going to be in the same location, you will need 2 gunsafes. I have a couple of Tredlocks that I have had for years and like. Bolted to the Floor and Wall, they cannot easily be moved nor broken into readily. Your average thief is in and out in less than 10 minutes. Even if he came prepared to break into your gunsafe, he will need a couple of hours, which is way too much time for 99%+ of the thieves out there. Fire ratings are probably the biggest thing to look for in a gunsafe. Good luck in your search. LOK |

I guess that would cut down on the problem of the gun you want to shoot being all the way in the back. But I need to take them all out every so often and inspect them for rust and wipe off the mildew from the wood anyway. And yes, before anyone else mentions it, I get to look at and fondle them while I am "inspecting" them! |

This one seems appealing for my personal needs and maybe a little bit bigger for business needs. winchestersafes.com/ |

I got a Cannon Safe at Bargain Barn before it burned down. I went to their after Thanksgiving sale and got it for 20% off. I really didn't like Safe Warehouse. I thought their prices were too high, but they do have an annual sale that might be worth going to. Accountant |
Where is the closest Adventure Outdoors to Athens? Is there one in the Marietta area? I'll be there all this upcoming weekend for the Eastman show. |
I have the the Yeager 7241 |
I'll be at the show all weekend so I might have to swing by there since I'll be staying at a friends in Marietta all weekend. |
Don't see it on Sams.com. That's a steal if you can find it. |
Sams has it in their store for $587. If you go to a FL store between now and the 14th, you can get it with no Sales Tax. |
I know they got some locally, last time I was going to get one they had 8 in stock |
Just bought this safe over the weekend. It is very nice and comes with a lifetime warranty. If it is damaged from either burglary or fire...Winchester replaces free for life. Fire rated to 1200 degrees for 30 minutes. |
