| It's official I'm moving down tomorrow. Should get in by the weekend. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys when we get settled in. |
|
Congrats- feel free to go ahead and change your location. You've been assimilated. I work with a guy from somewhere around Buffalo. He doesn't miss the snow at all. Wait til you get a load of our version of snow. We get ice. I've seen maybe 3-4 snow storms dumping over 8" of snow in my 35 years here. You're coming just in time to experience our "it's not the heat, it's the humidity" wave. |

Welcome to a "shall issue" state. Georgia Firearms License information aka concealed carry permit. |
You mean: how yall doin (no apostraphies in the south- only in books about the south. No "G"'s either) And just to help you fit in, it's yeehaw, no woohoo "Yuns" is correct for that area too. Wait til you hear " Hows yer mama n em" The answer is "arright" When the waitress or the person at the convenience store says "come back now", they mean again, not right then. We drink Coke down here. It's doesn't matter if it's Coke, Pepsi, RC, etc. And all tea is iced and sweet. (It's not Iced Tea, it's Ice tea, and you don'y have to ask for sweet tea, just tell them if you want unsweet) It's absolutely o.k. to eat fried chicken with your fingers- used to be a law that you couldn't eat it with a fork- seriously- but some yankees changed it. speaking of laws, Kennesaw used to have a law that you had to have a gun in your house. It still is a law that the state can't prevent a city from passing an ordinance requiring the residents to possess a firearm. I love this state. Welcome again- enjoy your re-education. (I remember when my mom asked for "pop" in a store once. The clrk said, we don't sell that here. The clerk thougth she was asking for marijuana.) I miss the days of seeing kids go in the 7/11 with no shoes and no shirts. Someone went and changed that too. BTW, my dad was a SeaBee too- from 58-68. |
Good for starters BUT instead of "how's that inatree" try "halsat inatree" We got a lot work to do here boys Mcaysville, right in the middle of the National Forest lands of four states, Now thats what you call a good move. |
| Welcome 19suburban96, I'm your near neighbor in Epworth, couple miles south on Hwy 5. New to AR15.com, but loving it! Been in town 7 years and you'd have to drag me away kicking and screaming!! ! We love these hills and live on a creek. Got a 100 yd . Range in the backyard and nobody seems to notice whether I'm shooting AK47, SKS, M77 Sporter, AR15 or 44 mag. What could be better?" |

Good to hear you're finally coming down. I'm in Mineral Bluff, about 7 miles up GA. 60 from ya. Exparatrooper, Plank here in Epworth, I've got some acres in Min Bluff area on Salem Road where I'm planning to build a home when this one sells. Should be a place where we can pop caps over there! Between us, my nextdoor neighbor and I have 16 acres and both love to shoot... Maybe our transplant can join in the fun?! |

Update from the move Well we're still getting settled in. What a change from the north down here. People smile more, things are more laid back, people take time to talk more. Still waiting for a faster internet connection (dial-up sucks). Got to find a place to shoot (hint hint) |
With that attitude, You'll do just fine here! Welcome friend |
Pickens County Sportsmens Club www.pcsc.us just north of Talking Rock (north of Jasper, south of Elijay) Want to shoot this weekend? |
|
Welcome to GOD's country. I live in the other corner of the state from you (NW corner) but I also have the 100yard and the 200 yard line here with no waiting!! It is free to my friends just about any time, as long as I get to shoot too..... Like everybody "well be see'in ya" Take care, David |
