I am thinking about getting the DPMS Kitty Kat upper but before I buy one I wanted to hear from anyone that might have had problems; jamming etc.

A friend of mine had one on an M16. The upper ran fine on semi but had numerous malfunctions on full auto. Accuracy past 50 yards was horrible. I personally would never purchase one. YMMV.

O.K. 50 yards... well I thought so, I will start looking at the 10' to 11.5' uppers just to be safe.

I bought a Bushmaster 11.5" barrel with 1-7" twist so I could shoot 75gr OTM rounds. This barrel produces excellent accuracy out to 220 yards. I suggest you call Bushmaster and see if they have any of these barrels in stock.

Was he using optics or irons ? To what extent might poor accuracy be attributed to the short sight radius of the iron sights ?

We used an Aimpoint M2 and ARMS #40 BUIS. We shot the rifle both off hand and rested and I feel safe saying that the poor accuracy had nothing to do with the sights.

I have a DPMS 10.5 in slabside upper with a freefloated barrel I don't want any more. IM me if you are interested.
