Anyone locally have a Buckmark? What do you think of it? I ask because now it seems I need to get a lot of trigger time to fine tune, and the .45s are just costing way too much to work on the fine points so I'm looking for a .22 pistol. I was originally looking for a Kimber, Ceiner, or Marvel conversion, but at a tune of $200+, it kinda makes more sense to just get a .22 pistol. I looked at a Ruger, but I don't like the grip angle. The SiG Trailside is too expensive. The base Buckmark Camper looks like a great gun, with the ergonomics similar to a 1911 and accurate to boot. So, anyone here got one for me to try out? BTW, GAcop, can you get a Browning Buckmark Camper? |

Take a look at the Ruger 22/45. It has the same grip angle as the 1911. www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAProdResults?function=famid&famid=4 ARH |
| I had a Buckmark for a while. I think it was the "Camper". It was about a 5" heavy barrel. It never had a problem, was accurate, and had a good enough trigger. Only thing I didn't like is the top part, just forward of the rear sight is plastic. Maybe it is for replacing with a scope rail or something. I liked it better than a Ruger MKII. The 22/45 grip angle I like, but the ugly grip inserts don't feel good or look good. The Buckmark had good mag release, not like the MKII. |
| Ive shot the BM . Nice pistol. I personally have the Ruger .I have a late 50's or early 60's Ruger standard .My dad bought it when he joined the ARMY in 1960. Some where in that time line. I bought myself a SS MKII Target 5" Bull Barrel. It's a tack driver once you find the ammo it likes. . I will agree about the mag release. But it's not a carry pistol.Just a for fun or camper..... Built like a Steel brick. Couldn't go wrong witrh either one. BM or Ruger. WarDawg |
