I am the FNG. I just bought a preban Oly, short 11.5" barrel with a flash hider. Got a good deal on it, figure it's a good starting point and a safe bet in case some 11th hour deal leads to an extension of the AWB. Looking forward to meeting up and going to some shoots with the GA arfcomers.. looks like this is one of the most active hometown forums. Josh |

Welcome to the GA gang. Plan to make lots of shoots. We have one going on May 2nd at the Birmingham FOP range, plus we try to do a shoot a month out at Charlie Elliot WMA. You came in right in time for the National shoot season, and don't be afraid to post that you want to go shooting on a particuar day. Now you just need to by an AK and things will be allright. |

DeltaAir423 - May 2 shoot - I may be able to make it but my rifle may not be here yet May 29 shoot - Definitely can't make this one because I'll be in the People's Repugnant of Kalifornia (San Diego) for a week. And I definitely want an AK. And a FAL. And a sniper rifle. It's an addiction. Bookhound - I live in midtown ATL. I got the Oly off of gunbroker and it was under $1200. The SN indicates a build circa May 1994 in nearly unfired condition. I have a 3 day inspection period, just in case. I have big plans for it. My only concern is it has an A1 upper and I may have to switch that out in order to do what I want. I couldn't put together a new postban rifle with similar features for less than the cost of this preban.. I -was- looking at new KAC M4, but I think I made a better decision w/ the preban Oly. |

Midtown's pretty good for me as I'm single and 28. I don't like buckhead too much, that's all gangstas now. though chuck's is in buckhead and they're supposed to have a great selection of optics. If I'm not too hung over from Music Midtown on Saturday I will try to make the shoot on Sunday. If I don't then I will be out for sure at the shoots once my AR arrives. I also have a couple of handguns and hopefully will have a H&K USC45 carbine soon. |
| Welcome from another newby. I still haven't gone shooting with these guys, and probably won't be able to make the 29th since that's close weekend, but who knows. Yes, it's an addiction. After not buying a new gun in over 10 years, since February I've bought an Armalite NM, a RRA entry tactical upper, a used Sig p220, and at the Farmers Market show I picked up my first AK, a cheap WASR-10 (not to mention over 1,000 rounds for each). I guess I can come to a shoot now since I got an AK? |
Chuck is schmuck! That place is really expensive. But, don't you worry, this group will definitely show you to places that you can spend all of your money on less expensive stuff.  Welcome aboard and keep your eye on that DeltaAir guy if you see him at Music Midtown. You should just know that he is a little funny(if you know what I mean).

I live next door to the North Ave MARTA station on Ponce. If you go through there and walk by a building with a big "33" on the front and there are obnoxious drunks yelling at you from a balcony there's a high chance I'll be one of them. :D |

I just moved here to. And it turns out I shoot with the other new guy - fast_shadow. I will go to the eastman gunshow. I need bulk ammo in .223, .40 and possibly .45. I'll try and look it up online. Any help would be appreciated. My other email is [email protected] |

Classic gun and pawn is at that show every time I have been there, and they sell q3131a ammo for 159 a case (1000) Im planning on getting there early because many make a dash right for them and its gone in a matter of hours if not sooner. You also have GA Arms and they sell their ammo for $160 for 5.56 and it comes in 2 ammo cans. (loose) just save and make the show and its worth it for ammo! |
