Welcome vedubin01!!

We usually go to Charlie Elliot WMA which is in the Covington/Mansfield area on the outer east side of Atlanta. There are other ranges and everyone seems to have their favorites. My favorite is the free one(Charlie Elliot), even though it takes a bit of gas getting there. It is also outside which is nice.

Sadly, I won't be able to go shooting this weekend. Got other stuff to do already. Hopefully someone will meet with you.

thanks for the reply, Im picking up a new Bushmaster M4 tomorrow at about 3pm so Sunday I would love to go break it in along with some of my other guns.  Im looking for an outdoor range so that sounds to be something I will check out.  Any directions from Lawrenceville?  Thats just off 316 and 85.

Thanks in advance!

The only outdoor range I'm aware of that's open on Sunday is Wilson Shoals up 985.  I believe it opens at noon.

Greetings and welcome vedubin01.
Bradd's right Charlie Eliot is definately closed on Sunday.  I believe we have a member that knows that first hand.....and I wont mention any names.

Wacky?  Nah, we provide color commentary.  We are the perverse John Maddens of the world.

You can go to this place called American Classic Marksman in Norcross.  Its good place, allows all sorts of guns, and only costs $12 to shoot all you want.  Also, gunshow next weekend at Cobb Civic Center.  If you can wait that long to shoot, I would love to shoot next saturday, then Hooters, then gunshow...

Welcome from one of the wackos!

I live in Buford, which isn't too far from Lawrenceville.  You could try Bulls-Eye in Lawrenceville for an indoor range.

Like the other guys said, Wilson Shoals is a free range (WMA).  It has a 75 yard line and 25 yard line.  Bring your own targets.  They have chicken wire strung up at 25 and 75 yards for putting up targets, but I like bringing my own stands too.  They open for shooting at 12:00 on Sundays.

Get there before 12:00 to setup.  Let me know if you want directions.

If something changes and I can make it tomorrow, I'd love to go.

Again, welcome.

bloodhound,

thanks and if you can shoot me a line.  I check this site way to much.  And as for next week Im down for the Cobb show.  I grew up in that part of town and remember that show being pretty good.  And once again Im down for shooting that weekend also.  If I can get directions to the range that you speak of that would rock.  Im not to fond of shooting indoors.  Just not long enough.  No real fun in it except to site in unless your shooting pistol.

Bloodhound,

One more question?  I was told to ask you.  What about a tactical school in the state of GA.  Are there any and is it worth it?  Please let me know!

Thanks

Well, I can't shoot today after all.  But, here are directions to Wilson Shoals:

Take I-985 north until it becomes 365 north.  Drive another 11 miles.  Turn right on Mud Creek Road.  Go 1 mile, turn left.  Go 0.1 miles (that's pretty much immediately after taking the left) turn right on Yonah Road.  Go 2.1 miles until you see the entrance on the left.

Entrance is a gravel drive about .25 miles long.
