| I will be staying in outer banks for a couple days and was hoping to eat some good food. Anywhere that I dont want to miss? Any great seafood? We are staying in the Corolla area. Fill me in! |
| I just ran an ultramarathon in that area last weekend. Started at the lighthouse in Corolla and ended down in Kill Devil Hills. Several places we ate at post-race was Millers (in KDH) and Roadside (in Duck on hwy12). Both were good with reasonable prices. Millers seafood was good as well |

JK's in Kill Devil Hills Pricey, but the steaks are outstanding.
Sugar Creek in Nags Head Great seafood. Poor Richard's in Manteo Great sandwiches. |
| Roadside in duck will be the best steak on the obx. Barefoot bernies is a great place if you are looking for more casual. Josephines is an absolute must go if you like italian food. Its located in kill devil hills and everything is made from scratch with a menu that changes daily. Expect to wait unless you get there early. |

A friend told me that the fish tacos here were the deal. |

Take the Ferry over to Ocracoke and go to Howard's Pub. I'll second this.... been a few years since I've been there but the food at Howard's Pub was awesome. We head that way 4 to 5 times a year. Howards is still the place to go. Drive over there but afterwards go rent a golfcart and tour the island. |

I'm in the Corolla for the week, thanks OP for the thread, thanks gentlemen for the replies, you'll have added a few places for me to check out. Ron from NJ Ocracoke is a hell of a drive and a ferry ride from Corolla. Howard's is good tourist food. Weave your way into Ocracoke from the ferry. There's a good place to eat shrimp and drink margaritas on the righ just before you get to the lighthouse. I forget the name of the place, but it's right across from the "shopping center". I really like the Avon area. Not too much traffic, enough places to eat or get shit delivered from, Food Lion, and a couple of local grocery stores close by. And you can have a fire in a pit on the beach. But it's too far away. Piss on an eight hour drive. We've got a house at Topsail for the week of 7/4 this year. Gimme a holler if you're going to be close by. I'll buy. |
| I'll be there in Manteo for a week at the end of this month and ending on the fourth, because I have to work july 5th. Talk about horrible luck. Who in their right mind is going to care about getting their car fixed on july 5th? Everyone will be out of town or recovering from a hangover. |

Collington cafe is a excellent place if you want a fancier atmosphere.
Collington Cafe Tortuga's Lie in Nags Head is a nice casual place Tortugas Lie |

A Sunset Slush just opened in Nags Head. The stuff is like crack. When I was in high school, I'd see the owners towing their cart over to the island and then push it up and down the beach all day. Now they've got a couple buildings down there and I'm glad to see them opening new stores. Good for them. |

Didn't seem like a place I would order a steak at. The clam chowder was awesome though. |
