| I heard something about it on the news this morning but i couldn't distinguish what they said because i was busy getting ready for work. Does anybody know. |

I just heard them mention it on WORD radio. Only thing they said was legislature looking at changes to allow concealed carry without permit. I wonder if this is the bill that was proposed a few weeks ago that had a bunch of changes in it.
This one maybe: http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess119_2011-2012/bills/3292.htm |

I'd much rather have them allow carry at places which serve alcohol, but this is a step in the right direction... This is rather puzzling to me...SC's CCW permits are more restrictive than many others...which is why we lack reciprocity with several states. SC does not recognize their "slack" rules, and hence, they don't recognize SC's permits. Going to a system that does not require the 8 hour class, and lets anyone CCW seems puzzling to me... I also wonder if they will keep the CCW in place. How does a SC resident carry concealed in NC for example without a recognized CCW permit? Again, all of these questions assume that this legislation passes... |

By obtaining a non-resident permit from a state that does have reciprocity with NC, or other states that you wish to CC in that require permits. But I was under the impression that most states only issue non-resident permits to those who already have permits in their home states. So I wonder how, or if, someone like myself (who doesn't have an SC CWP yet) could ever obtain a non-resident permit, if this passed, and I hadn't gotten a CWP here yet. Either way, it's great news, IMO. |
