Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith that works on ARs in Raleigh?  I'm new to the area and would like to find someone I can trust to work on my things.

Thanks.

I posted this in your first post, not sure which you'll read first

If you don't mind the 1 hour drive, there is a very good AR gunsmith in Southern Pines. His names Matt Mutarelli and his number is 910-692-5506.  Hes an retired SF Armorer with tons of knowledge and is pretty reasonable on his fees.

Plus Southern Pines is a cool place to spend an afternoon, if your married, your wife will like th shops,  as an added bonus, Ed's Gun Shop on US 1 about 5 min north of Southern Pines is one of the best gun shops around and in and of itself would warrant a trip on its own merit.

Thank you for your suggestion.  I've been to Ed's once and was very impressed with their service and selection.  I'll give Matt a try.

Ogburn Gun Repair. Kapp Ogburn is probably the best gunsmith in the area IMO. And is very familiar with all types of guns, including AR15s. 919-661-0310. He's located in the same building as Personal Defense and Handgun Safety Center on Tryon Road in Garner.

Hey, I dont know what his limits might be, but he pretty much does everything. He's done barrel modifications and receiver modifications for me on my AR, modified a few shotguns, tested tolerances on some revolvers I have, etc.... so I'd say call him up and talk to him. He's typically very busy, so you have to leave a message, but he always gets back to you. The gun shop his office is in is the busiest gun shop in the Raleigh area, so he stays busy. but, he does great work, and he hasnt said no to any jobs i've given him (from super easy add ons to putting my barrel on a lathe to fit a custom muzzle brake).
