A bit late but we got a white Christmas after all. Started snowing about 9:00 PM here south of Charlotte and it's coming down slow but with big flakes. Can't wait for morning.

Pictures to follow.

Morning! The streets are slushy and wet ... overnight lows are calling for 20 degrees meaning that stuff in the streets will freeze to solid ice. Went out and bought some doughnuts and bread for the duration. Had a guy come around the corner of the subdivision sideways in his SUV across my lane ... street tires don't an SUV make. Another guy coming out of the grocery store slid across the stop sign and into on coming traffic ... no accident as the lane was empty.

Looks like we got a nice 4-6" worth of snow.

So you're saying I should leave the SBR at home?

Nah, the snowmen are out to get me.

We've got a good 3-4 inches worth. Charlotte is still flying as I can hear the airplanes overhead ... haven't ventured out onto the freeways yet but the side streets are a big mess, slush, water, and snow.

The kids are having a blast sledding down the golf course.

Work called me this morning.

Multiple power failure alarms in Gaston, Lincoln, Cleveland and Rutherford counties.

Per the boss, we are riding together and towing generators to keep some sites up.

Should be an easy money for me today.

I'm guessing we have 3-4" in Davidson County, NC.  Looks like a nice day to sit in front of the TV with the computer in my lap.

The Second Amendment Foundation is taking that case on.
The NRA. Claimed that they got behind the MC.Donald case, but reality is that it was the Second Amendment Foundation that won the MC.Donald case .The NRA had almost nothing to do with that ,despite there claims.
Oh and by the way I am a NRA. member so don't get me wrong I am not totally bashing them.

Same story here in East Burke.  Probably 4-6 inches setting on the ground right now with another 1 inch or so expected, still snowing at the moment.  We did lose power last night from about 11:45 till about 1:15, the duke power site for outages jumped from 459 to 1935 reporting power loss around that time.   Still, bravo to the guys at Duke, they got it back on pretty quick.

Looks like Forsyth, Guilford, and Meck all seeing quite a bit of outages this morning too.

Seems like most sites that was down are back up.

We split up after the roads cleared.

Should have about 12 hours OT today, so, what to buy next.

I thought I left this white, devil powder up in NY when I moved to SC!!!!

Just some flurries today here in Myrtle Beach.  It's sticking a little bit, to cars and stuff, but not to much else.  Still beats having to dig my car out of 3' of snow last winter up in NY, when I was leaving work at 4AM.

Are we getting Pat's or Geno's?
Be careful on the way home.

Btw Paul you forgot to add milk. It's a staple round here to gut the local markets of bread and milk at the first sign of frozen precipitation.

Yeah, bread and milk ... for me it's pizza and Pepsi!

(got plenty of both)

Freezing out there now ... ain't venturing out on those streets. I'm living out in the sticks and the plows/salt/sand trucks don't come out here. Hopefully Tuesday's weather will melt this stuff and the world can return to normal.

This is NORMAL, for Boone.
Took this photo this afternoon on my way to town to get lunch.  As usual
had to share the road with the deer.

Tony Luke's! I'll definitely be grabbing one before I leave. The great pizza and cheese steaks are on the very short list of things I miss here. The "philly cheese steak" stores down here don't know a cheese steak from their butt hole and don't even get me started on Harris Teeter's interpretation; It should be a crime to sell such crap as "philly cheese steaks"! BUT now I get to eat a ton of excellent BBQ!

Here's a pic of NJ just moments ago.

Yes it is, right around the corner from the sports complex(Eagles, Phillies, etc.). Yeah I go through the Triangle but stop at my mom's in Wake Forest/Louisburg just to break up the 9hr drive. Too bad a cheese steak wouldn't be the same after the 7hr drive
