So I take my family down to James Island every year for the lights and this year is no different. We have a crew of us with about 30 RV's that all reserve together and one night we go out to eat. We're going to Hymans this year down on Meeting St. Was not my choice but I'm a team player so we're going. My question is where in the hell am I going to park a F350 crewcab longbed dually near the slave market?!?!?

Figured y'all might know of a spot to look our will just tell me to keep my fat bottomed truck @ the campground...

last time I was in that area there were a couple pf pay to park lots where your truck would fit.

It will fit in the Patriot's Point parking lot, then you can take a cab across the bridge into Chucktown.

OK, I'll admit to being a smart aleck there.

I don't have a good answer for you.  In the garages downtown I sometimes have trouble finding a place for my 2-door, standard bed Ram pickup.

Yeah, wife thinks she knows of 1 surface lot but I figure on bad odds on a Friday night. I doubt I'll fit it in any garages. I would just get a cab for us but my 2YO needs a carseat. Might just be easier for us to bail on the crowd as it's not too big of a deal. Didn't know if anyone might have a spot off the top of their head. I've had enough fun in Chas with regular sized vehicles so I could care less about trying to keep everyone's mirrors intact and fenders attached with a dually! Plenty of good places to go outside of the market area IMO.

There is a pay lot near Fleets Landing. We usually park near Broadway and Church street, get there before 6pm for spots on the street. The old Saks 5th Ave on Market has a parking garage.

A cab might be your best option

Either park down by the Harris Teeter on East Bay and walk or use the pay lots down by Fleet Landing.

You don't have a very Chucktown compliant vehicle, friendo.

We'll give those suggestions a try. Walking a bit won't be an issue; and yeah the big truck can be fun at times... I've been there a bazillion times but somehow got suckered in to doing the whole touristy thing this time... Not sure how Hymans snuck into the equation as a suggestion for a crowd with mondo mega vehicles...

Id just use the columbia st or the parking garage off east bay by moes tavern and park on the top floor and take up to space. I dont think you would get bothered.

You should be able to park anywhere around College of Charleston and walk to all the tourist traps.
