All of the 30th Heavy will be back soon. I've got a buddy with an F150 stock and my stock G Cherokee. Both have some more aggressive treads, mine with skid plates but no lift. I know you have to get a trail ticket and it is closed until 01 March. His 61 Rover is not redone yet. Are there some trails for these sadly inadequate vehicles? Can we make a day trip and have some reasonable fun running trail in the woods? |

There's a couple trails that anyone with a stock 4x4 can do, and a couple more that can be done with a competent driver. With two vehicles and some decent driving, you can easily have a good time all day and not trash your rig.
ETA: My avatar is my stock 4x4 Blazer which did all of the easy and medium trails, and only suffered a slight dent in one rocker panel due to my over-zealousness. IT can definitely be done w/ a F150 and a Jeep. |

My jeep stock did well. My Jeep lifted and new tires will do it all. ETA, most difficult trails have cut arounds, I did break a connection on my sway bar when it was stock while i was up there, but i was driving like a mad man too much. With the 3.5inch RE lift and 33 super swampers, my jeep should do all trails.

I've run every trail there in a bone stock 4dr Yukon on 285s. I had to take bypasses on the harder trails, but I made it up Daniel without having to pull cable. The big ledge cost me a torsion bar crossmember, but I was able to drive the truck back to camp.
Moral of the story: you shouldn't have any trouble, but I'd stay off the hard trails, especially if you're new at this sort of wheelin and/or these are your daily drivers. Check out wheelindixie.com or NC4x4.com , if you can behave yourself on this board, you shouldn't have any problems there, just remember to search first. I've gone on a couple trail rides with groups from both boards, and most, if not all, of the people who showed up were downright good people. |
