| Hey guys, I'm interested in starting 3 gun competition. I've never done it before, but I have been shooting for a couple of years. I understand the basic concepts, but I was wondering if anyone here knew of any introductory classes or would be willing to show me sometime. I'm in the Durham/Raleigh RTP area, and I'm not really familiar with any ranges that have 3 gun courses too, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! |

We hold 3 gun at the Crosse Creek range in Fayetteville, 3rd sunday of the month. I think Ant Hill hosts a match on the last weekend of the month. Don't feel bad, most of us that shoot it are from RTP area and don't mind the drive.
By all means come down to watch and or shoot. Plenty of great knowledge and folks that'll answer your questions. |
| Hey, thanks for the email w/all the info. It kinda stinks that we don't really have any ranges in the RTP area that do 3-gun. Oh well, I def plan on going out to Fayetteville, probably to watch the first time, then maybe try it out the second time. If anyone else is interested in going to check it out, let me know, maybe we can plan something! |

e-mail sent again and this should get you clued in. If you go, carry your rifle, shotgun, handgun so after the match you might get a litttle one on one instruction on one of the stages. I know Kevin or whoever is there would be happy to walk you thru it. If you don't have all the equiptment needed try it anyway and you'll be hooked.

| Im thinking about coming down and trying it out. I know I will suck ass, but who cares. How much is the entry fee? I know nothing about 3 gun, but I did just watch some videos on youtube and kinda have an idea. If this is what I was going to bring would I be able to make it through. Glock 22, has the most capacity out of all my pistols, Win 1300, and I will prolly bring a 16 in with and acog, and a 24 with bipod and leupold. Think that would work? Again I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks |

look at thies. i would shoot the 16" the farthest shot could only be 300yards, thier are moore close ones than that. dont put money into it before you shot a match, it will give you a better understanding. http://www.crossecreekrifleandpistolclub.com/ http://www.shooterreadync.com/phpbb/ |
| Match fee is $25. The 16" gun is more than enough. We try and keep the round counts decent- bring 100 or so pistol, 50 birdshot, 10 slugs, and about 100 rifle. That should get you through a match- it always helps to have more on hand though (read long range shots). |

And don't worry, no one sucks at 3 gun more than me, you are guaranteed not to steal my last place record I made it to a few Cross Creek matches last fall and had a blast. Humbling, but fun. Makes you realize how good you're not and what works and what doesn't. I'm going to start making the matches again in July after the local June NRA/TPC matches. Family obligations have kept me away so far this year, something some others will be experiencing in the near future |
