I currently have 12 acres, a pond, out buildings etc. I want to sell here in Southern SC and move to western NC mountains. I have about 4 more years on my mortage.
I think I can get enough out of my place to buy outright approx 5 acres with an older house. I am currently 60 yr old and want to retire asap.
What say you? Should I stay where I am or go for it.
Thanks for your input

I keep hearing that but you sure can't tell it here where I live. Land and housing prices are still going up, and from what I see looking at the NC mountains it hasn't made much of an impact there either.

Yup.

Land is at a premium here still. What part of WNC are you looking at?

That area has not taken off liek some, but 5 acres will still be a pretty penny.

I am hoping to get 5 or so acres with a house on it (maybe one that needs a little work) for $100k or so.

Good luck.

You will be doing well to just find some land at that if it is decent.

Heck you can't even get a single wide and an acre for 100K around here...
