Moving to Graham, NC from Greenville and wanted to know if anyone knew of rifle ranges in the area? I am a member of the Greenville Gun Club and we have one with distances from 50-300 yards. Would like to find something to waste ammo at. Thanks, Paul |
| This might be up your ally, been there once, just south of Mebane www.dprc.org/index.html |
It was a one time deal, was invited 2-3 years ago by U352, some others. Had a lot of people show up at once so didn't get to shoot much. Was also rainy that day. My impression the range is great for paper targets, I think it goes out to 300-400 yards, which is nice and hard to find. Maybe current members will chime in. |
I remember that trip. We had fun, even in the intermittent rain. The hosting party was very nice for giving up a day to meet other gun freaks. I would join there if I was closer. I need something like that closer to Clayton. |

You might check out encgc.com/ I haven't been there yet but looks good. Blackops_1. |
I'm a DPRC member. It's a good club. Very black rifle freindly. Almost to the point htat if you do not have one people think you are strange. We shoot HP matches once a month and vintage matches a few times a year. There are4 different ranges. A 100 yard range, a pistol range, a pit for blasting (soon to be 2 pits) and a 200/300 yard rifle range. Clubhouse on site... You should come out to one of the HP matches to look around and maybe shoot the match, |
True its not as black rifle friendly as I would like. No tacticle type training in .223/5.56 mode. But some people enjoy benchrest thats why I mentioned it. And if you get a conversion kit you can have an awesome time at the rimfire/handgun ranges we have. To me the handgun facilitys are top notch. I've been a member for a year and been dozens of times and never shot skeet or trap, though they do truely dominate the clubs existence. Overall we are a great club. |
I am sure we would stand a better chance if we would team together to get things to go our way a little better. We need to get a meet together or get Scott to set up a Tactical match. Remember, Power In Numbers. I would love to see an "Action Pit" built. Samuel |

I'm all for it. I'll volunteer my time and some of my hard earned cash to bring something like this together. We should have enough land available to make something happen. Even if it was to close the rimfire for a couple days a month so we could setup/ shoot / cleanup like we do with all the other matches, would really make my day. |

Thanks for the info. I will hopefully join this club once I get in the area. Their safety classes on the last Saturday at 8:30 are a little logistic problem for me, living in Greenville, SC. However, once I get into the area I will definitely show up and go through the process, pretty much like I had to go through to join the Greenville Gun Club. I shoot either a Ruger M77 30.06 or a Garand and usually at 100 or 200 yards. Look forward to it and moving back to the area. Paul Jones |
I've been a member for 4 years......never had an issue with black rifle.....I have shot beside numerous AR-15 shooters.... I drape a towel or heavy wool sock over my scope and ejection port and the shells drop on the table where I am shooting. I have also shot pistol caliber AR SBR / suppressor though it is never busy when I go...... We have a blast shooting informal combat pistol matches every month (during spring / summer).....let me know if you guys want to get together and "run" thru a couple of things.... |
