I will be around Columbia, SC for business over MLK weekend. Is there anything gun shows going on or some good gun shops to visit will I have some free time.
Thanks

Don't know about shows, but they're pretty much your usual overpriced stuff with jerky, cheap nylon tacticool gear and airsoft sales mixed in.  Fort Jackson used to have a pretty cool museum, but I'm not sure what the status of it is.  There is a good bit of Civil War history if you're a history buff.  We also have a very nice zoo.

Not much in the way of gunshops anymore either- Shooter's Choice is expensive although they have a range and you can rent guns, Lawman's Safety and Palmetto Firearms are primarily LEO dealers (but you can get some good deals on used guns occasionally), Sportsman's Warehouse is overpriced on firearms (insert average big box gun dealer jokes here), the pawn shops downtown are way overpriced generally- that's about it.

... and what the heck is with all of the people from Ohio coming to SC anyways?  There seems to be an ever increasing number of Ohio tags on our highways?  Gobacktoohio.com

Hey, as long as you're not a northern liberal you're welcome here as far as I'm concerned.    We are a firearm friendly state and still pretty conservative.

I'd offer to take you shooting, but the primary place I hunt/shoot is a little over an hour outside of town.

I am very conservative and originally from the south. Thanks for the info and hopefully there will be some warm weather when I get there.
