| I have been wanting to take a concealed carry class for some time. I have 2 handguns that I could use, but I don't have a holster for either. I am wanting to get a C TAC for 1, can I use that for the class? Also what all is involved in the class? The place I am thinking about taking it has a 8 hour class. That is alot of time. Finally, at what range distance does the shooting part consist of? |

Your holster is fine. There's no specific holster required, so long as the holster you bring is designed for your make/model of handgun. I would highly suggest you take the handgun to the class that you intend to carry concealed once you receive your permit. As for the class length, the State mandates that the course be an (8) hour course. If it's any less, the class is illegal. For your sake and the sake of the program, take a legal course. What is involved in the class? Well, take your handgun, a holster designed for that handgun, the presribed ammunition amount (at least 40 rounds), eye and ear protection, a pen/pencil and paper. Your Instructor may ask you to bring additional items. Your Instructor also has a list of subjects he/she must cover. Ultimately, be ready to learn. I could get really specific, but that's a lot of typing. You will be shooting at 7,5,3 and 1 yards. Respectable social as well as bad breath distances. Hope this helps. |
