Tryon, between Asheville & Spartanburg, SC.
BTW, we have a members-only gun club (Polk County Gun Club) with a newly-reopened 300 yd. range, a 50 yd. pistol range, and two combination trap/skeet ranges. If anyone is interested in details, e-mail me at [email protected] |

Reaper...
Tried Davi's.... Really didnt appreciate. The good range for my 92F but not long guns. Just joined the wake county range in Holly Springs(our tax dollars at work!) Nice set up. 25 meter pistol, 50 meter combo and 100 meter rifle. All indoors. No 50 cal unless blk powder. But real clean. They were even excited I brought my 10 yr old. Run by the Sir walter gun club people. $15.00 to join (5.00 for class and 10.00 for first hour of range. Wake county res.) |

You might want to check my first post above, ref. the Polk Co. Gun Club. We have several members from Transylvania Co. We are about 20-25 min. from Hwy. 64 exit in Hendersonville..... You can e-mail me a the address above if you are interested, or want further info. |
Im in Asheville. Cool place, except theres no place decent to shoot a rifle unless you have land. Anybody around here wanna do some shootin'? e-mail me.
Hey Reaper,
I am from Raleigh as well. Email me for details on a place to go shoot. |
Hey livefree. Welcome to ar15.com. I'm in Raleigh also. Do you have a place to shoot or do you go to one of the local ranges? |
Thanks SR15, after 2 yrs of freeloading on this site I finally joined.
San Lee Gun Club is the place to go. Their membership is capped at 300 but I finally made the cut. It is 30 miles down #1 south but is worth the ride to shoot outside. These indoor ranges around here definitely serve a purpose but are expensive and there's nothing like shooting outside. San Lee has 200 yd rifle, pistol with steel knockdowns (you can use shotgun on them too) and an automated skeet range. A source for cheap helium balloons is all that's missing. That and a 1000 yd range of course. Full auto is ok but you've gotta have paperwork on file. I am ready to go and can take 2 guests. You and Reaper interested? |
Sure, I'm interested, thanks. Sounds like a cool place. I'd much rather shoot at an outdoor range also. It looks like I may be out of town this weekend, but anytime after this weekend could work. Send me an email or IM. |

Clyde here myself, just west of asheville. All kinds of places for me to shoot :)

From the burg of Oak Ridge (outside Greensboro).
Anyone know of a 200M+ rifle range that's close to Greensboro? Thanks, Terry |
I know where that is, I went to school at Oak Ridge Military Acadamy. Not much out there in O.R., but the school. Don't know of a range nearby maybe someone else does. Justin |

Hey SR15 and Reaper,
Sorry it took this long to reply. I'm way to busy lately. Gotta work this weekend too. I would love to do some shooting but can't seem to fit it in between weather and obligations. Lets try to put it all together sometime soon though. I'm dying to try out my 700PSS in .300 Ultra Mag! The folks in the Gulf get to shoot all the time and its just not fair... |
I understand. I've been pretty busy myself. Just send me an email or IM whenever you're ready. |
Tell me about it!!!! I've been working 10 hour days lately! This sucks, my company like every other company, is tryin' to squeeze more and more out of management!!! I would love to go and shoot, but I've been spending my days off catching up on sleep. Another thing that complicates matters is that my days off are at weird times during the week....like Monday and Thursday one week and Wednesday and Friday the next week. We definately need to get together and do some shooting. Maybe we could toss around some ideas about organizing the state shoot.

Hi guys, I'm from Fayettteville/Ft. Bragg looking to reach out to 200-300 meters/yards! I'm limited to 100 yards now at the range on post. Oh, well. The EOtech on the AK really wants to be zeroed for 200 meters and the mosin nagant would want to reach out and touch something. I speaking for the nagant even though I don't have her yet, picking her up today after work. Pretty excited!
