We hit 100 degrees yesterday, with heat indexes as high as 120. I asked my wife how far north she could stand to move. |

i don't think i could handle it further south with ya'll right now. would have to have a large pitcher of tea or lemonade and an office to stay in. i think the heat index up here was about 107. i worked for about 45 mins. in the sun, next to new asphalt - it was 6-8 feet from me but it was like standing at an open oven door. don't know what the index would be there but i'd figure the asphalt was approx 200 degrees or so. i was soaked in short order - takes your breath away. you could go up to the Boone area and up towards Lynn Cove Viaduct - it was much cooler up there the other day. man, its hot out. |
