Gentlemen, I will be working at a camp between Asheville and Brevard this summer (about 20-30 mins from Brevard; Transylvania county). Iam not allowed to have any firearms of any kind on the camp, and since it is about 5 1/2 hours from my home, I won't be able to go home to shoot on the weekends. So what I was wondering was, are there any gun clubs that will be having shoots in this time frame, and allow guests just to come watch? Not to shoot, but just to be around the weapons? I gotta have my fix or I'll go into withdrawals... I'll be there basically for June and July, so anything on most of those weekends would be wonderful. Thanks for taking pity on a poor unarmed traveler

I don't know of any formal shoots up that way, but The Carolinas Crew has a few members up that way. There may, or may not, be an arfcom shoot up in the woods, so keep your eyes on this forum. We usually announce gatherings. What Camp are you going to be working? I get up to Chimney Rock on a fairly regular basis. |

Well, Chimney Rock Park is about an hour from where I live in Shelby. I usually got the range everyother weekend. You'd be welcome to come along and shoot any of my rifles you wanted to. I don't have a problem helping out someone in need of a Black rifle disease fix. |

You guys might be interested. I turned in my application over at Piedmont Gun Club (in Rutherfordton) yesterday, so I'll be able to "host" some shooters if I get accepted. They have a 100, 200, and 600 yard rifle range (paper only, from what I saw) and a couple trap and skeet setups. It looks like no adult beverages and that type of stuff. Kinda of a bummer, but I think they want it used for strictly shooting. I should have a deck off the back of my house by then, so we could have a cleaning/drinking session here if it all works out. ![]() CHRIS |
| Greenfeet: Drop me a line some time. I'd be happy to go do some shooting with ya. I'm in Asheville. These a couple of organized shoots in the area. Theres one at On Target on Moday nights. It's IPSC, or IDPA, and theres another on Tuesdays at Rex's in Flatrock. I haven't been to it. |
