So, time to spend some money on my AR.  Leaning towards Geissele and 2-stage.  I am watching Bill's youtube vid describing his triggers. I hate choices.....

Anyone have a bunch, specifically SSA, SSA-E, SD-C, and SD-E?  I'd like to try a few before I plunk down that much money.....

Fwiw, it's for my mutt-build

I'm also getting a PA 1-6x24 ACSS and Aero Presicion SPR mount, so that pic isn't 100% accurate.

In KC area, btw.

I have a few Geissele's, but for the price you can't beat the LaRue MBT.

It's DAMN hard to beat the Rise RA-140 drop-in trigger at $100.00

I have the ssa, g2s, dmr adjustable, and also the larue mbt (in a 308 though).  I can meet you some place if your want to try them.  also if you haven't tried to use the acss reticle, i have a scope with that in it too (the 4-14 though)

sorry but never been a fan of drop in triggers.  also never been a fan of aftermarket triggers that don't use GI springs and standard pins either.  and before you say something, yes i have a spare geissele in my parts box

That's a nice mutt. I'm partial to the A1 stock. I think they have a better tactile feel than the A2. Ergonomically, the difference is insignificant. What hand guard are you using?

I have several Geissele SSA triggers and LOVE them.  Sure they're a bit pricey but you get a durable and reliable trigger that feels really nice.

Handguard is ALG EMR V2 in the 15" variety. 18" Faxon, rifle gas.

I have several of the Jard triggers and like them.  Really like that they are fully adjustable, and weight changeable, with just springs.

Agree on the MBT if you don't want it real quick. Hard to go wrong with an SSA or SSA-E either.

For a true precision rig the best trigger made is a Geissele Match Adjustable. They are completely bat shit insanely awesome. Better than any trigger in any rifle I've ever fired when adjusted properly.

I've got an AR gold, a Larue MBT, an SSA-E, a Wilson TTU single stage and a factory LMT 2 stage you would think was a Geissele.

I've got several Geissele's. SSA, SSA-E, DMR, Hi Speed National Match.

One Larue MBT on a MK-12 I got during their sale

Actually buying an ALG-ACT tomorrow to try out.

If you are willing to spend the $$ then the SSA would be the one to try out. If u need it adjustable then the SSA-E. Either way you can't go wrong. Wish I could have one in all my black rifles.

The SSA-E is not adjustable. The HSNM is.

I have 2 SSA-E's in AR's now, and when approved, my SBR will be getting a S3G. I tried LaRue's MBT. I thought it was ok, the break was outstanding, but the take-up was a bit on the gritty side. Not gravel like gritty, but was not smooth as glass either, like the Geisseles.

I like RRA and CMMG 2 stage match triggers. Good for the price. Not a Giselle, but I'm not making the same hole in a piece of paper, I'm shooting varmints. The trigger is not what limits my accuracy, the wind and my own ability limit it. So sometimes I shoot twice.

I am going to take j20 out to McBride (Pioneer GC) sunday morning, anyone else want to come?  Rain or shine.  The rifle line is covered (not that I care, I would go anyways)

I bought an RRA NM trigger back when it was the cool thing to do. I like it so much I haven't bothered to try anything else.

Curt, you can't go wrong with any Geissele or LaRue triggers. I have 3 different Geisseles and a few LaRues and am equally happy with all of them.

If you decide you would like a Geissele SSA-E, send me an IM before you go spending money with any retail merchants.

Got back a little bit ago from the range.  I think he decided on what trigger to get and it was the mbt.

Now why would you go and throw that into the mix? LoL.

I meant to hop back on here and thank ws-6 for letting me finger his toys.   Had a good time and enjoyed the drive on a sunday morning.

Mike, I guess I'm going to pm you. ......

So, I have the Geissele sd-e in my rig, and was probably going to spend the money on another one for my next build, but now you all have me really curious about the Larue MBT...

I love the 2 stage and noticed this is also a 2 stage. How does it compare to the Geissele? Just as good, better, etc???

Thanks

I would say just as good as my dmr.  The only real difference to me is that the dmr is adjustable and the mbt isn't (plus yp the mbt is 125 right now and the dmr is 280)

I have an RRA in a rifle, it doesn't get shot much... the RRA is great, until it breaks and it WILL break eventually if you shoot a lot with it.
when that happens expect a Burpgun experience, it is the design of the hammer that kills it.

Seen several broken ones. I am not a huge fan of match triggers at all.
Don't belong in my working rifles.... Range toys or something for long range work that doesn't have to be reliable? Sure... Geiselle would be my choice if I were to go that route again.

Geissele SSA and SSF triggers meet the same longevity and reliability specs as the gritty single-stage GI trigger.

yeah... I never said they were NOT reliable... I said the RRA is not... and WILL break... And "Gritty Single Stage" is meh... I only have one gun that I could see getting a better trigger and that is the one with the RRA...  Simple as that and it will probably be a Geissele... Don't read shit where it does not exist....

Your SD-E obviously is going to feel different than an MBT because of the flat trigger bow. But IMO, the feel of the trigger is the main difference.

The MBT has a harder, louder reset than my Geissele triggers, but other than the feel of the trigger itself, there is hardly any noticeable difference.

The trigger on the MBT is slightly wider and has a flat surface inside the shoe radius. The Geisseles are slightly thinner and have a rounded surface inside the trigger shoe. They both have very smooth, consistent pulls, with very crisp breaks and you can't go wrong either way.

I've bought a few MBTs lately because of the price, but I think I still prefer the feel of the Geissele triggers and would likely choose a Geissele if I only had one AR.
