Is there a decent spotlight or Flashlight that I can use to shine out across my yard and the filed behind it???  (and hopefully doesn't cost a million bucks)

I have almost 300 yards too a wood-line, behind me and I'd like to shine out too it at night....  I know there are Cows, some deer and some coyotes from time to time...

Last night, one of the Dags was on high alert, growling and a low bark out towards the field...  When I went out and took a listen, I head what sounded like a big ass Deer blowing at me...  Thats like the 3d time in the last few weeks I've wanted to spot light something out there...

If size isn't an issue (etc like you want a small light) then this is a pretty awesome light.  And it is rechargeable.

I have one and if I am really wanting to put some light down I use it.

Or if you want small and have a few bucks this surefire is pretty nice.  I have one of these as well and it will reach out there.

The thing that gets me looking at lights is some are rated in Candle power, other in Lumens...

I might get that 1st one...

Rechargeable is a definite plus... Not super concerned about size as much as Brightness or distance it will light things up at...

I can vouch for this light Fenix TK75 4000 Lumens

If you want to turn night into day at high noon, this light will do it. In addition, the "throw" on it it is insane. Its extremely high quality.

These are really bright and will throw a beam that distance provided the humidity will allow it.  They are also rechargeable and can be mounted to a wall for easy and instant access.

I like that it states, a distance...  ""297-meter of beam distance""

Candlepower is the intensity of the light measured measured at a single point; lumens is the total light output. Tightly focused spotlights with high intensity in the center lend themselves well to the candlepower measurement, but for your run-of-the-mill flashlight a lumen rating gives a better idea of how it performs.

A typical pair of car headlights on high beam will output about 2000-3000 lumens, for comparison. Don't get too caught up in minor differences in the numbers... It takes approx. quadruple the lumens for your eye to see a doubling of light.

That giant spotlight is a bit cheaper, but there's some big advantages to a high output LED light. Many of the LEDs use lithium batteries which discharge slower than a lead acid or alkaline battery. If it sits on the shelf by the back door for 6 months, the LED is more likely to work the next time you pick it up. The LED will be more portable, and in a pinch you can grip it with your support hand while using a long or hand gun. That Fenix TK75 is pretty nice...

My "bump in the night" lights are 600-800 lumens, with 1.5-3" diameter reflectors, not a little compact pocket AA light. I like them out to about 50yds... They'll throw a lot farther, but 50yds is about where I start wanting a brighter light. My eyes aren't great, either...

I had this same problem and needed a light that would shine and spot light stuff at 100-150 yards.  A settled on a Fenix TK41 and it's like a light saber.

We have about twenty of the Fenix TK41's at work. (Unfortunately they've been discontinued) they are a damn good light but the TK75 4000 model makes the TK41 look like a candle.

Keep in mind flashlight addiction is REAL!

Unless you want to spend boat loads of money, stay far, far away from candlepowerforums.com

There is a guy there that mods the Fenix TK75 to output 14,000 Lumens!!!!

I had a pair of Maxa Beams for a while.......bought them off a guy on the EE.

They were pretty incredible.  If you've seen True Lies or Jurassic Park, that's the light.

They have a servo that focuses the beam from flood to pinpoint spot.  The flood was not quite as effective as a dual cell Fenix--it was kind of like a Maglite, not very consistent.  The distance was amazing......I live on a cliff and on a clear night could light things up over a mile away in the valley.  They're heavy as hell, uncomfortable to carry, and take a while to recharge, but they were still cool.  I couldn't justify owning one $1000 spotlight, much less two, so I sold them on eBay.

Lowes has a Stanley rechargeable 900 lumen spot light for $45.00 I think. I don't know if it will get you out to 300 yards and still identify what's there but it would be close. I have one and compared to my 500 and 630 lumen lights it brighter because it has a more directed beam. For the price it was worth it, I bought it for watching the dogs in the yard at night and when my one dog runs I spot her easily 5 or 6 yards away. Recharge it no more than once a month.

OK, Thanks to YOU I just got a TK75 delivered to me, and HOLY SHIT is it bright. I can't wait to play with it in the dark.

I think I got a really good deal too. Found it in the EE of  another forum for $155 WITH the extended runtime kit. Not too bad I don't think.

So whatever you do Pursuit. Please, Don't send me the link to the guy modding them!

Happy Flashlighting!

I have a jetbeam t6vn being built for me right now....I am guessing by the same guy (vinh) being referred to earlier. Has a rated throw of 1300 meters. His lights are truely incredible.

OK, I'm blind now!

My TK75 came in today and I made the mistake of pointing it at a white wall when I turned it on for the first time.

WTF!  No batteries included?  There goes eight CR-123As I was planning on using for other lights.  I need to order some 18650s and a charger.

Keep in mind it will not hit anywhere near full output until you use 18650's I HIGHLY recommend AW 3,400 mah.

AND know your battery supplier as counterfeits are everywhere! Oveready not cheap, but they ARE real and SAFE.

Good lord 23.00 each....  How many of those does it take?

Four. You can buy cheaper (and they might EXPLODE!)

Still, you won't believe the light output they have.

After spending way too much time on candlepowerforums, I've learned that two places to NEVER cut costs are chargers and batteries.
