Are the nickel boron better?  Everything I've read (which ain't much) has said that when possible go for the FA rated stuff because it's built tougher/betterer/gooder/etc.

The only benefits to the NiB coatings are easier cleaning and a little bling.  Despite marketing hype you still have to lube a NiB coated BCG just like an uncoated one.

True, but I prefer Melonite QPQ anyway

Until you pull the charging handle on a J.P. Enterprises QPQ carrier you have no idea what smooth truly is.
