I live @ Adrian and am looking for a good processor to send some deer too. I don't mind driving a half hour, but I'd like to try to keep this on a budget. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I would suggest doing it yourself. That way all the meat you get is your own, and it doesn't cost you anything.

This!   you can get setup for about what it cost to have a couple deer done at the locker.

I am in a situation where I can't really justify buying the equipment right now, and I can't dedicate the time. Coming up on a move has me scrambling for a processor.

Dude, I can kill a deer, hang it. Skin it and have it completely in the freezer in an evening.

What is it you are needing? Just someone to package the meat or cut the meat from the deer? Its really easy and all you need is plastic wrap, freezer paper and a knife.  Ive never had a deer processed anywhere. But ive eatin deer from a processor and ot sucked. Much prefer my own cuts.

So can I. I am looking for a processor to have sausage and burger made.  I'm not looking for someone to skin and quarter my deer.

I'd like some sausage, burger, snack sticks, jerk made. I don't need anyone for steaks.

Heatherington, it's down towards Clinton, only place I''ve ever had deer from that you can eat, anywhere else and you're better off finding a friend with large hungry dogs.

It generally takes months to get anything back, so if time is an issue
maybe finding a processor close to where you're going would be helpful.

Would you need one near Kansas City, or in Oklahoma?

That's crazy. I guess I got spoiled by our local guys back home in OK. Generally I could take a deer into the processor and they'd have it ready for me to pick up in 48 hrs. I'm actually moving to Omaha so Oklahoma is out of the question. But I wouldn't be opposed to Kansas City.

I use Peculiar Meat Company, probably 30 to 40 minutes north of you on 71 hwy. They've done 3 quartered deer for me. I've only had burger made. It turned out great and they didn't break my wallet either. Going back this year after I put an arrow in another. Quick turn around time also.
