| I'm looking at buying a rifle but the upper is of no use to me. The rifle is a 55ae124. What would the upper be worth on the market for a new never shot take off? |

If you don't want the upper why buy the rifle? You can have cheap complete lowers right now.
PSA Complete Lower |
| I want the lower for a stupid reason (I like the serial number). But it comes as a complete rifle. So the upper will go to recoup some of the costs. I don't know what's fair as the upper isn't sold by itself. I was figuring 200-250 valued for the complete lower and the balance for the upper. |

So you are figuring $546-$596 for a non chrome, 1-9 twist, probably not MPI barrel or bolt. In my unprofessional opinion I seriously doubt you would get that much out of it. I look at it like this. I can get a FN barreled upper with everything this one doesn't or may not have from PSA on a "daily deal" for $319 or less depending on the deal. Add in a blem mpi bcg for $99 and at most I'm at $419 for a upper that to me is more desirable. Honestly I wouldn't give the CMMG upper a second look for the same money much less for over a hundred more. That's just how I see it but someone out there would love to buy it. Ymmv |

If you're willing to cough up nearly $400 for a lower that has "boobs" as the serial number, then more power to ya.
ETA: Oops - thought you were the OP. Quoted:

I want an AR with serial number 80085 But that's the juvenile delinquent in me coming out... If you're willing to cough up nearly $400 for a lower that has "boobs" as the serial number, then more power to ya.
ETA: Oops - thought you were the OP. I wouldn't ever pay $400 for some boobs... Hoping the deal works out a little better than that, but $300 isn't far off. Will be my SBR lower tho. |
