| What's the best way to get my name out if I want to start parkerizing? I have my FFL, business license and everything I need to get started. Problem is most people unless they are into black rifles, tactical firearms or C&R stuff don't even know what parkerizing is. I learned to parkerize as a DOD armorer and have done it for friends and myself for several years. I have the experience, space and equipment, but just don't really know how to get it out there that I'm doing it. I know I can beat what a lot of people charge because of my low overhead and I know there are a lot of people that would get stuff parked if most places were not so high. So tell me without spending a lot of money how do I get started? |

In the realm of industrial coatings the process is known as "Phosphate" coating
Parkerizing is because of Parker... Manganese Phosphate and Zinc Phosphate... in the industrial coatings game it is simply phosphate. Due to the acid used and the Metal in suspension for the conversion coating on steel. Electroless Nickle is basically Nickel Phosphate... Same process different conversion coating. A Blind idiot can Park on the kitchen stove... simple stuff. as a business you will need to keep track of your waste etc. |

Im well aware of keeping track of my waste and actually filled the waste form out when I submitted my 07. Like I said before I learned in a DS shop and actually parked for several years when I first started. Im not parking on my stove like most blind idiots, but not industrial either. |

Get yourself a business Facebook page and start posting pictures and videos. With a Facebook page though, you need to post stuff often to keep your name in front of people that are following you. Don't just post about what you are doing. You can post about anything going on in the industry. That would be the cheapest way to get online. A good website would be my next step, but unless you can do it yourself it is going to cost a little. It does not have to be an elaborate website. Just nice and clean, easy to get where you want to go, and not look like it was made in 1999.

Not a slap on them, just speaking plainly as well as wishing it didn't effect good folks like it does... |
