Ive about given up on finding any .223 and have decided to start stocking up on 9mm for my new XD9. Looked last night and they had plenty of 9mm in stock at wally world, but decided to think on it. Decided to get in my fun money and pick some up today. Went back tonight and someone had cleared the shelf of every box of 9mm. Guess Ill have to go on the hunt and see what I can find. We had just started to get stocked up on ammo here and now its back like it was pre obummer...

Keep an eye on a few websites. I don't pick up ammo local much anymore, I can get a better price after shipping and with no tax when I find decent deals online.

Sgammo.com
AIMSurplus.com
Palmettostatearmory.con

I've ordered around 15000 rds from these websites in the last 8 months.

Pre/Post Obama re-election isn't a huge concern just yet for me.

I was at a wally world here in STL the other day. They had everything in stock.

Wish I would have had more money.

Quite a bit of both .223 and 9mm available from the W-M in Ofallon and St Peters... Ofallon has the 420rnd 30cal cans of xm855, Fed 100rnd pks and 20rnd American Eagle along with assorted 9mm. St. Peters has the same except no 420rnd cans...

I just buy powder, primers and projectiles...    Tough to reload 9mm given the price though...  .223 / .45 / .308s  just keep pulling the handle.

Everyone keeps leaving brass lying around on the ground.

Every Fall apart Mart in Eureka, Washington and in Union were completely out of stock of .223.  I asked a manager and was told that this was an "warehouse" out of stock issue.

The good news is I know that Dantz in Union is in FULL STOCK mode with .223 Black Box (or at least he was last week).. Dantz is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.

Is it a PITA to buy ammo across the river?

never done it myself, but as I understand it you have to have an FOID if your an IL resident, or a CCW will work for nonresidents

As long as you have a Missouri driver's license, you don't need anything else.

I go shooting at my friend's farm in Il. 5 or 6 times a year and we always stop at the W-M to buy ammo.

No need for a Foid card. You just have to show your Mo drivers license. And the next closest Wally world to me and smullen is in Dellwood on West Florrisant. And they don't carrry much in the sporting goods department. If you go there you will see why. And rightfully so.

I thought it was 'hunting ammo only' for non-IL residents and only if you can show an IL game license that is current.

Hey, if that's changed I have no problem with that.

Good to know. I thought a foid was required so I never even checked for ammo over in commieville.

My old man and I went to an indoor range in Belleville and rented a full auto MP5 a few years ago. No FOID card required, just our MO drivers licenses.

Actually, that one's in Ferguson.  Goofy city limits in our neck of the woods, I'm by there as well.
